The National Election for President and Vice President is slated next year, May 9, 2022 and as the date is getting near, speculations about the possible presidential and vice president candidates are surfacing as early as this week. Several names and tandems surfaced in the world of the politics two names were ringing a bell recently - Senate President Tito Sotto and Senator Ping Lacson.

Both names are being encouraged to run in the coming election and according to a recent survey, they're included in the TOP 10 names to be considered, Sen. Ping Lacson for President and Sen. Tito Sotto for Vice President.

Sen. Sotto was asked if Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), where he belongs, already has a candidate to endorse for the position of president.

The Senate President said that their party is in alliance with the PDP-Laban. He said that there had been informal talks about endorsement but they haven’t come up with a final decision yet.

During an interview with Ms. Karen Davila, Tito Sotto was asked who should he picked if ever he will run, as his running mate and mentioned the names Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Mayor Sarah Duterte, Mayor Isko Moreno and Sen. Ping Lacson.

He said, "First of all, I’m still considering it… and if I do consider it, the number one on my list would be Sen. Lacson. I know his capability. I know what he can do for the country. If he runs for president, I will support him!”

Sen. Ping Lacson celebrated his birthday last June 1 and he is now 73 years old. Panfilo "Ping" Morena Lacson Sr. is a Filipino senator who served from 2001–2013 and again from 2016–present. He is a retired police general who headed the Philippine National Police from 1999 to 2001.

As this is the most crucial event in the country since Filipinos are picking the next most reliable leader of the country, there are people who are excited with the tandem of "Lacson-Sotto" specifically in the showbiz industry where they gained positive feedbacks.

Some of the feedbacks were:

As far as my knowledge is concern, ‘di pa nangyayari ‘yun sa ‘Pinas.”

Just recently, Sen. Ping Lacson's son Pampi celebrated his birthday and it was a memorable birthday for him because his son Thirdy (with Jodi Sta. Maria) and Mimi (Iwa Moto) were present and sung him a birthday song and even gave him a birthday cake.

When asked what his reaction is if his father will run in the upcoming election since there has been a lot of speculations, he didn't say anything for now and would rather not comment until it is confirmed.
