So, here I am googling on how to renew my NBI Clearance in order for me to process some of my important documents. I already forgot how to do so which is why I landed on http://rubhee.com page and was informed on the step by step procedure since I can't seem to access NBI's webpage.

For Renewal:
a.) Personal Copy of the old NBI Clearance issued not earlier than 1994. Photocopy is not accepted.
b.) In the absence of the old NBI clearance, applicant is required to accomplish a new Application Form (Fingerprint Card).
For New Applicant:
Valid ID.

For first time or New Applicant, you may proceed to the following NBI offices:
P.S.
Update, You can proceed to BIG R located at Junction, Cainta if you're living in Rizal area since the Taytay Branch has been moved there. NBI in Victory Mall has been re-located as well so might want to check other NBI office near you.
For those with old NBI clearance or renewal applicant, you may also proceed to the above NBI offices and/or to the following KIOSK outlets listed below. You need to bring the Personal Copy of your previous NBI clearance certificate.

NBI Kiosk – accepts renewal of clearance applied from 1998 to present provided that barcode is still clear and readable by the computer. Kiosks accept changes only in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to come personally at the NBI Clearance Center or in any NBI Satellite Office to fill-up a new application form and attach a photocopy of your birth certificate. Kiosk do not accept attached photo.
HOW CAN I AVAIL OF THE NBI RENEWAL CARD?
You can avail of the NBI renewal card if you have already secured your NBI clearance certificate. The certificate must be two (2) months old or less prior to your application for renewal card. Present this certificate to the Renewal Card booth of any of the following NBI offices:
1. Victory Central Mall, Monumento, Caloocan City
2. Quezon City NBI Satellite office, Quezon City Hall
3. Marikina Riverbank Satellite Office, Marikina Riverbank Center
4. Robinsons Mall, Cebu City
5. South Central Market, Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu
6. Victoria Mall, Davao City
7. NBI Sta. Rosa, Laguna
8. NBI Imus, FRC Mall, Imus, Cavite
The fee for the Renewal Card is only Php120.00 pesos.
I ALREADY HAVE A RENEWAL CARD, WHERE CAN I USE IT TO SECURE MY NBI CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE?
You may proceed to the following NBI offices mentioned on item #4 to secure your NBI clearance certificate using your NBI renewal card. Your personal presence is required.
I AM A VERY BUSY PERSON, BUT I NEED TO RENEW MY CLEARANCE. CAN OUR MESSENGER OR RELATIVE DO THIS FOR ME?
Yes. You can send a representative with your Authorization Letter. Be sure that your authorized representative have the original copy of your previous clearance certificate with your latest 2×2 picture (white background) attached. Update the information that needs to be updated, else write Same Data if there are no changes. Renewal only allows changes in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to come personally at the NBI Victory Central Mall Clearance Center or at any NBI Office to fill-up a new application form with the photocopy of your birth certificate attached.
NBI KIOSKS do not accept renewal of clearance handed by your representative.
CAN I SEND A PHOTOCOPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE?
No. We no longer accept photocopy of clearance.
I AM PRESENTLY WORKING/LIVING ABROAD. HOW CAN I GET A NBI CLEARANCE WITHOUT GOING HOME TO THE PHILIPPINES?
You can visit the nearest Philippine Consulate Office and ask for a Fingerprint Card Form.
a.) Fingerprint Card Form – fill up the personal data called for on both sides of this card truthfully and legibly.
b.) Request the assistance/endorsement of the nearest Philippines Consulate Office or the police agency in your locality to have your fingerprints impressed (ROLLED IMPRESSION) on the appropriate spaces. The officer/person who fingerprinted you should sign his name, state his official designation on the space provided for the purpose on the card.
c.) In case you are a married woman, the order of writing your name is as follows:
c.1) Your maiden surname (father’s surname).
c.2) Your husband’s surname.
c.3) Your first name or given name.
c.4) Your maternal surname (family name of your mother)
d.) Attach a latest copy of your 2”x2” photograph with white background (taken within three (3) months prior to your application).
e.) Enclose Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00 Philippine currency or bank draft which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines. The following accredited banks are:
1. Philippine National Bank (PNB)
2. Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Co. (HSBC)
3. ANZ – A New Zealand Bank
4. METROBANK
5. Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI)
Upon completion of this requirement, send your accomplished form to:

You must also affix your clear and properly taken THUMBPRINT on the space provided for on the clearance certificate with the assistance of any local police in your area before submitting it to your end-user.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING/LIVING ABROAD AND WOULD LIKE TO RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE. HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT THAT WITHOUT LEAVING ABROAD?
Just send the original Personal Copy of your old NBI clearance certificate issued not earlier than 1998 if you still have it. Otherwise, follow instructions on item #8.
Prior to sending your old NBI clearance, you must attach latest copy of your 2”x2” photograph with white background (taken within three (3) months prior to your application) and photocopy of your passport with date stamped proving your presence abroad. Update any information that needs to be updated on your old clearance certificate, else writeSame Data if there are no changes. Renewal only allows changes in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to fill-up a new application form (refer to instruction on item #8) and attach a photocopy of your Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate as proof on changes applied.
Enclose Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00 Philippine currency or bank draft which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines. The following accredited banks are:

I AM A FOREIGN NATIONAL AND HAVE LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES FOR QUIET SOMETIME. PRESENTLY, I’M IN MY HOMETOWN AND FOR SOME REASONS, I WAS ASKED TO SUBMIT A NBI CLEARANCE FROM YOUR COUNTRY WHERE I USED TO STAY. HOW CAN I GO ABOUT THIS?
Follow instructions on item # 8.
MY FATHER CANNOT WALK BUT HE NEEDS NBI CLEARANCE VERY BADLY. WHAT SHALL WE DO?
You may send a letter address to the Director of the NBI requesting for assistance. The Bureau will send a fingerprint technician to take fingerprint impressions of your father right in your residence.
WHEN I APPLIED FOR NBI CLEARANCE LAST YEAR FOR LOCAL EMPLOYMENT, I WROTE 1961 AS MY YEAR OF BIRTH. THIS YEAR, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD, BUT MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM THE NATIONAL STATISTICS OFFICE REVEALED THAT MY YEAR OF BIRTH WAS 1962. WHAT WILL I DO WHEN I RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE?
You will be required to fill-up a new fingerprint card. Name, Date of Birth and Place of Birth are vital information and any change thereof will be our permanent record. You will also be required to attach a copy of your NSO authenticated birth certificate.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO APPLY FOR A NBI CLEARANCE?
a. NBI-Victory Central Mall Applicants - for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within (30) minutes. For those with namesake, their applications is subject for further verification and have to wait for forty-eight (48) hours before clearances are released.
b. NBI-KIOSK Renewal Applicants –
1. METRO MANILA – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within 2-3 minutes. For those with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Clearance Center in Victory Central Mall for further verification. Clearance will be released the following day.
2. REGIONAL / DISTRICT OFFICES – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within the same day. For those with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Offices near their place for further verification.
c. NBI-SATELLITE Applicants -
1. COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days or upon advice by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC).
2. NOT COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – all clearances will be released after 7 working days upon application.
d. NBI-REGION/DISTRICT Applicants–
COMPUTERIZED REGIONAL/DISTRICT OFFICE – for those without namesake, Clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days or upon advice by the Officer-in-Charge.
I PETITIONED TO COURT FOR CHANGE OF MY NAME AND WAS GRANTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY NEW NAME WOULD BE REFLECTED ON THE CLEARANCE EVEN IF I USED MY OLD NAME IN MY PREVIOUS CLEARANCE.
- You will attach a copy of the court decision on your new application. Your new name will be reflected as your true name and your old name will appear as your alias.
I HAVE A COPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE WHICH I APPLIED ON JANUARY 12, 1990. IN JUNE 1995, I WAS ARRESTED FOR A CERTAIN CRIME. THE CASE WAS FILED IN COURT AND WAS DISMISSED. PRESENTLY, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD AND I AM AFRAID THAT THIS CASE WILL BE REFLECTED ON MY CLEARANCE WHEN I APPLY FOR ONE. PLEASE ADVISE ME.
- Since your case is already dismissed, this will not be reflected on your clearance. Instead, you will be interviewed at the Quality Control Section and will be required to submit the court disposition.

Starting Wednesday, April 1, the National Bureau of Investigation will no longer entertain walk-ins as it implements a fully online application process for NBI clearance.

The registration and appointment system for the NBI clearance will all be done online nationwide. Applicants may accomplish the application form at www.doj.gov.ph/nbi, www.nbi.gov.ph, and clearance.nbi.gov.ph.
After registering online, applicants may proceed to any of the 55 NBI sites nationwide for the payment and biometric enrollment before their their clearance is released.

ReplyDeleteHi kyte, I suggest you get a new NBI Clearance and when they ask your details, tell them that you're no longer single and you need to update your surname etc. You can use your Abroad NBI Clearance for local employment for as long as it is not yet expired.
ReplyDeleteAs of today, DFA (passport) is the only government document that can be scheduled online as well as NSO Birth certificate.

ReplyDeleteYou can bring your NSO birth certificate or any valid ID :) Kahit isa lang pwede na..
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if pwede palitan ang date, you can inquire na lang din once you get there, depends if walang hit ang name mo, pag may hit usually umaabot ng 15-20 days, pag wala hit you can just wait for it about 10-15 minutes :)

ReplyDeleteHi :-) You can bring 1 valid (SSS, Company ID, etc) basta valid ID to process your NBI Clearance. Wala na pong renewal ngayon, but the process is still the same. Birth certificate is accepted a a valid ID even passport. as for renewing your NBI Clearance abroad, I'm not sure about the process, you can ask your Philippine consulate or embassy about it. Di ko lang sure where kuhanan ng NBI sa Laguna, usually kasi they have a booth at Robinsons or Ever malls or sa City Hall ninyo, 1 day process lang po but if you have a hit, it may take a week.

I had my experience last time na kumuha ako ng NBI clearance i am a First timer, hanggang ngayon di ko parin nakuha ang NBI ko..Di manlang nila sinabi kung may kapangalan o tinatamad lang sila.. Ang tagal naman kasi 1month bago makuha for local lang yun huh.. Sana bigyan aksyon namanyun.. Kailangan na kailangan ko na ei. ang tagal pa makuha,, tas di pa sila nagtatanung if either LOCAL or TRAVEL abroad.. NAKAAINIS TALAga ang NBI dito sa OLONAPO.. sana masolusyopnan na to.. TAS HASLE pa..

ReplyDeleteHi :-) wala na pong kuhanan ng NBI Clearance sa Tay Tay, based from experience I went there straight and 2 years na daw pong walang kuhanan ng NBI Clearance duon. You have to go straight to eaither Robinson's Cainta or Robinsons Galleria. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteUsually, if your name doesn't have a hit, NBI will release your clearance on the day itself when you applied for it, 10-15 minutes but if your name has a hit, it will take a week or so.
ReplyDeleteFYI sa mga kukuha ng NBI Clearance sa Robinsons Mall Dasmariñas. 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM lang office hour, hindi tulad nang nasasaad sa website ng NBI na 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. When I applied for the NBI clearance there, dumating ako sa mall 10:05, nakuha ko clearance ko 4:48 PM, pang 290 kasi ako, last batch. The last number I heard from the callee was 315. Yun yata ang quota nila. Kaya yung dumating nang 10:30 AM, sorry na lang sila. But you can fall in line naman earlier. Hindi rin nawawala yung mga 'anak ng douche', hindi na siguro magbabago ang pagkakaroon ng VIP treatment sa pagkuha ng NBI clearance.

ReplyDeleteHi :) I'm not sure if you can still use renewal card, I haven't verified it yet. The process is still the same though. Wala na pong renew now, same process na lahat.
ReplyDeleteIf may kapangalan po kayo, same process pa rin po, talaga pong maghihintay kayo kasi need pa nila ipa verify sa NBI Main which is located sa Manila yung name nyo po para ma check yung records. Usually pag may hit ang name, may kapangalan, more or less 2 weeks or yung day talaga na binigay sa inyo.
When you do your nbi clearance at duty free for travel abroad only.bring a photocopy of the ID you will present.its PHP2 inside. You can also do local employment nbi but you need to get both a travel abroad and local employment nbi clearance.

Also at duty free nbi if you have no hit on your namr...be prepared to pay 5php for your printout and envelope.

In the past, it takes only a week to before you can get your clearance. These days, thanks to the advent of fast internet technology, you can get it after only 20 working days..that's a whole month!! The guys at NBI are very lazy no wonder low profile criminal cases get forgotten in time.

ReplyDeleteHi! Kumuha ako ng NBI clearance last year with my married name on it pero "Annulled" ang nakalagay as my civil status. The clearance is already expired for about 4 months. Kailangan kong kumuha ulit for Travel Abroad and I was advised to use my maiden name na as annulled naman na ako, then ilagay na lang daw ang married name ko as AKA. Tanong ko lang kung pwede ba ito as renewal? Meron bang ibang requirements dito like Marriage Certificate with annotation? Thank you for your reply.

hello po. ano po ang ibig sabihin ng photocopy of passport with date stamped proving your presence abroad? ito po ba ung residence visa or valid residence permit? meron na po akong old NBI, ire-renew ko lang po sana. Been living abroad and needs renewal for employment purposes. ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Ruby Ann :) All NBI centers, office hours po ang open whether sa mall pa po or sa may mismong NBI office, but since marami po ang nag aapply, maaga po pumupunta yung iba, minsan 5 in the morning pa lang mahaba na pila, 7am nagbibigay na ng number ang mga guards para sa cut off for morning at afternoon. So mas maganda po na maaga talaga kayo makapunta para makasali kayo sa cut off :) thanks po :)

ReplyDeleteThe National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recently launched a website where applicants can apply for their clearances both for new applicants and renewals.
ReplyDeleteOne simply has to head over to the NBI Application Form's website and fill up the respective fields. The website then provides the user with a Registration Code and a QR code. The user has the option of also printing out the application form with the encoded data. I was pretty impressed at this point.
The second part of the process is to head to the NBI Clearance Center. In this case I headed to the NBI in Robinsons metro east. Upon arriving at the NBI Regional Office and witnessing the infamous long lines and chaos, I was dismayed to find out that Online Applicants were scheduled to appear on a particular day for their clearances by filling up a paper with their respective name and registration code. Haven't we graduated from this already? Aren't we supposing to be heading towards a paperless system?
Furthermore, the individual who was manning the Online Applicant Schedule forms mentioned that we, online applicants, would still need to line up with the rest of those who didn't fill up the online forms. What's the use of having an online application system, then? At this point, I was disgusted and frustrated at how pathetic and ineffective the system is. I walked out.
et's get rational here. The NBI was given a budget to implement an effective online application system in order to reduce the usual disorganization and mayhem caused at the NBI Clearance Centers when acquiring the blessed NBI Clearance Forms.
Here's how the current system could be improved upon:
Firstly, a separate line for those who filled up the Online Application Forms should be established. It's pointless in lining up with the rest.
Secondly, the NBI should accept payments online may it be via Credit Card Payments, Bank Transfer or the usual over the counter transactions at the NBI Clearance Centers. Come on, we're living in the 21st century already!
Thirdly, an express lane for Online Applicants who have completed the form and paid online can be formed in which their thumb marks and picture can be taken. Once that has been accomplished, the clearance can then be printed out or mailed to a respective address.
The current system in place is useless, broken and redundant. The government is giving the public a false impression that things are improving while in reality they're not. We're not fools nor sheep. The system is backwards and still not at par with what other ASEAN countries have to offer to their citizens. Wasn't the Philippines labeled as Asia's new "Rising Tiger?" The Philippines is being left behind as an "Extinct Asian Tiger."

ReplyDeleteIn General Santos City, processing of NBI clearance is now 1 month! Before, it was just 3 hours! And they do not care whether you applied online or on-site; it doesn't matter to them at all; you all have to wait for 1 month to pay for the clearance and subsequently get it!

Ipapadala na niya sa akin with an authorization letter.. Can I process it sa CDO Regional Office, or kailangan talaga sa main office in Manila? Expensive pa naman pumunta ng Manila saka may work po ako. Hope I can have answers. Thank you.

ReplyDeletenasa previous employer ko ung half ng nbi clearance ko. I worked in just a month. Ngayon need ng present employer ko ung nbi ko. Ano gagawin ko? pwede ko ba makuha sa previous employer ko ung nbi ko or kailangan ko kumuha ulit? thanks for the reply. :)

ReplyDeleteHeres my contribution. I just got my NBI clearance at duty free fiesta mall along sucat. You dont have to be an ofw. Although yung "for what purpose" part, ang pwede lang sa kanila "other" aside from yung mga pang travel. Yun lang naman diference dun so pwede sa kanila travel tapos "other." Nag fill up na ako through the form on line, tapos print ng isang copy. Dumating ako ng 9:30AM at binigyan ako ng number 270+. Their cut off is 300. Natawag na kami sa loob ng mga 4:10PM. Pinalitan lang nila yung sa "other" purpose tapos double checked with me kung tama yung mga nakasulat. Then thumbprints, picture taking tapos bayad. Tapos na ako by 4:25. Madami tao sa duty free pero hindi nakakapagod masyado mag antay dun. Mahangin at may lilim. Remind ko din yung mga renewal is wala nang renewal, its all "new applicants" so dont bother with renewals. Goodluck.

ReplyDeleteI am using the online NBI. I am confused on what status to choose since I am annulled. I need the NBI in both my maiden name (the one I have always used ) and the annulled name for the K-1 fiance visa. DO I need to get 2 NBI's or do I just choose annulled and then put my single name in the main portion of the application and the annulled name in the AKA box. If I do that will it search both names and clear them so I don't need to get 2 NBI's? Also if so do I need to type ANNULLED NAME before I actually tye the name in the AKA box?????

ReplyDeletePlease help me. I’m currently working and living in Dubai for almost 2 years now. Kailangan ko po kasi yung NBI clearance ko for visa related purposes. I went to Philippine Consulate dito sa Dubai to get necessarry documents so my mother can process my NBI in my behalf. Meron po akong Special Power of Attorney at kinuha din po nila ang finger print ko manually using the blue form where all my details na din po. Pati na din yung passport copy ko. I followed all the necessary steps po. Ang sabi sa Consulate ipadala ko na po sa Philippines and my representative (which is my mom) can obtain the NBI for me. But the thing is when she went to the NBI office located in Cebu kasi taga doon po ako. They denied her and sabi nila ay sa Manila daw po dapat kunin ang NBI ko since I’m an OFW and if my mother want daw po they can process that application but they are asking for 3 thousand pesos from her which is a clear red tape. They even told my mom na it takes 10 working days pa daw before they can release my NBI if we push through with what they said. So admin nalilito na po ako kung paano ko po makukuha ang NBI ko. I have all my documents but it seems like they are of no used because of this corrupt officials wanting to milk money from OFW like me. Please help me po. Thank you and God bless po.
