Direk Sonny added that everything will not be possible without the push and full support of his father, Mr. Tony Calvento. Direk Sonny at the time of the sudden passing of his father, veteran columnist Tony Calvento had made up his mind that he will no longer attend the Red Carpet opening of Busan International Film Festival, he stayed during the funeral and at the time of cremation but one of his father's last wishes was for him to attend the film festival, according to Direk Sonny, his father was in ICU then and wrote 'Korea' on the white board saying that he wants him to be there and moments later he died. Which is why Direk Sonny wants to fulfill his wish which is why on October 17, he was there and was able to interact with the viewers of the film.

Nabubulok is all about the mysterious disappearance of a Filipina. It started when Ingrid (Gina Alajar) learned that his cousin Luna was missing. Luna is the wife of Jason, An American played by Billy Ray Gallion of the US Series "Lost".
They have three children and one of them is Paul played by Jameson Blake. Suspicions arise when the Harper family have been acting mysteriously specifically Jason, the head of the family. Rommel played by JC Santos helped Ingrid in finding the truth about what happened to Luna as the story progresses.
Even though Direk Sonny is grieving over the passing of his father, he will be forever thankful that he was there to support him all the way and will be optimistic for his films together with Filipino films saying, “I hope Busan will offer more opportunities for our film to be screened in other countries. That it will show how creative and truthful Filipinos are, as storytellers,”.
