Monday, October 23, 2017
What goes well with cold weather? I don't know about you but whenever rainy season comes along, I felt like my cravings for eating good food doubled. Good thing there's always a place in my mind that suits every occasion even season throughout the year.
Tien Ma's is my all-time favorite go-to place for authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Their appetizing menu has been consistent over the years and to different branches as well.
Tien Ma's Libis Branch
This is the first time I've dined at Tien Ma's in Libis because we always dine at their Banawe branch and thankfully, I also love the ambiance here. It's perfect for family get together as well as with friends and office mates if you decide to go on a lunch out. Everything that you might need is already at the table and the staff at Tien Ma's are always very friendly and will accommodate you fast. I'd like to commend Jerv who assisted us during our amazing lunch at Tien Ma's.
Just recently, Tien Ma's launches new dishes on their menu, something they will make their loyal customers come back for more. You can now indulge Tien Ma's meaty and tasty king crabs! You can choose to have it cooked in Sate Sotanghon, Singaporean Chili Crab, Fried Chili and Garlic Crab and Salted Egg Crab.
Laksa Noodle Soup Php 245
This flavorful soup is perfect for the rainy weather. The moment is was served in its steaming glory, I quickly sip the soup because the scent of it is very tempting. The toppings is just enough, it's creamy with a kick of spicy in it as well. Tien Ma's also offer Tom Yum Noodle Soup for only Php 245.
Beef Hofan Php 259
Beef Hofan is a favorite Cantonese dish, made from stir-frying beef, he fen (wide rice noodles), scallions, ginger, bean sprouts and dark soy. Good thing Tien Ma's offers this now because I believe it is favorite among Chinese food lovers, an important element in making of this dish is “wok hei” which is a cooking technique that uses very high heat to create a wok sear that has its own unique umami flavor.
When it comes to Taiwanese cuisine, you can note familiar influences from Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Some common ingredients include pork, seafood, chicken,
rice, soy and beef.
rice, soy and beef.
Taiwan Style Fried Rice Php 200
Three Cup Chicken Php 219

Watermelon Shake Pitcher Php 200
Because we're typical Filipinos, our meal, even if there's so many dishes to choose from, will not be complete without rice. My ultimate favorite at Tien Ma's is the Three Cup chicken since it is also a staple dish in Taiwan, this dish blend so well together and the addition of basil seals the deal, I forget to mention that you should try this with plain rice so you can enjoy the appealing taste of it.
Lastly, who can resist Xiao Long Bao, my ultimate favorite and only at Tien Ma's. They have it served perfectly and very affordable as well, honestly speaking I finished off 8 servings in one seating, I hope I'm not the only one who does that but seriously, whenever I eat it using chopsticks and a spoon, it's one of the most amazing moments of my life!
While devouring our food, I felt the authenticity of the fully-packed place despite not having visited Taiwan yet, while eating, I suddenly felt like I was indeed in Taiwan. If you feel the need to experience Taiwan’s culture on a budget, Tien Ma's is highly recommended. Not only will the ambiance give you a glimpse of the culture, the food on its own will take you there.
Tien Ma's is now open at Kia Theatre, Cubao, Quezon City as well as in Cagayan De Oro!
