So, here I am googling on how to renew my NBI Clearance in order for me to process some of my important documents. I already forgot how to do so which is why I landed on http://rubhee.com page and was informed on the step by step procedure since I can't seem to access NBI's webpage.

a.) Personal Copy of the old NBI Clearance issued not earlier than 1994. Photocopy is not accepted.
b.) In the absence of the old NBI clearance, applicant is required to accomplish a new Application Form (Fingerprint Card).
For New Applicant:

For first time or New Applicant, you may proceed to the following NBI offices:

Update, You can proceed to BIG R located at Junction, Cainta if you're living in Rizal area since the Taytay Branch has been moved there. NBI in Victory Mall has been re-located as well so might want to check other NBI office near you.
For those with old NBI clearance or renewal applicant, you may also proceed to the above NBI offices and/or to the following KIOSK outlets listed below. You need to bring the Personal Copy of your previous NBI clearance certificate.

NBI Kiosk – accepts renewal of clearance applied from 1998 to present provided that barcode is still clear and readable by the computer. Kiosks accept changes only in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to come personally at the NBI Clearance Center or in any NBI Satellite Office to fill-up a new application form and attach a photocopy of your birth certificate. Kiosk do not accept attached photo.
HOW CAN I AVAIL OF THE NBI RENEWAL CARD?
You can avail of the NBI renewal card if you have already secured your NBI clearance certificate. The certificate must be two (2) months old or less prior to your application for renewal card. Present this certificate to the Renewal Card booth of any of the following NBI offices:
1. Victory Central Mall, Monumento, Caloocan City
2. Quezon City NBI Satellite office, Quezon City Hall
3. Marikina Riverbank Satellite Office, Marikina Riverbank Center
4. Robinsons Mall, Cebu City
5. South Central Market, Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu
6. Victoria Mall, Davao City
7. NBI Sta. Rosa, Laguna
8. NBI Imus, FRC Mall, Imus, Cavite
The fee for the Renewal Card is only Php120.00 pesos.
I ALREADY HAVE A RENEWAL CARD, WHERE CAN I USE IT TO SECURE MY NBI CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE?
You may proceed to the following NBI offices mentioned on item #4 to secure your NBI clearance certificate using your NBI renewal card. Your personal presence is required.
I AM A VERY BUSY PERSON, BUT I NEED TO RENEW MY CLEARANCE. CAN OUR MESSENGER OR RELATIVE DO THIS FOR ME?
Yes. You can send a representative with your Authorization Letter. Be sure that your authorized representative have the original copy of your previous clearance certificate with your latest 2×2 picture (white background) attached. Update the information that needs to be updated, else write Same Data if there are no changes. Renewal only allows changes in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to come personally at the NBI Victory Central Mall Clearance Center or at any NBI Office to fill-up a new application form with the photocopy of your birth certificate attached.
NBI KIOSKS do not accept renewal of clearance handed by your representative.
CAN I SEND A PHOTOCOPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE?
No. We no longer accept photocopy of clearance.
I AM PRESENTLY WORKING/LIVING ABROAD. HOW CAN I GET A NBI CLEARANCE WITHOUT GOING HOME TO THE PHILIPPINES?
You can visit the nearest Philippine Consulate Office and ask for a Fingerprint Card Form.
a.) Fingerprint Card Form – fill up the personal data called for on both sides of this card truthfully and legibly.
b.) Request the assistance/endorsement of the nearest Philippines Consulate Office or the police agency in your locality to have your fingerprints impressed (ROLLED IMPRESSION) on the appropriate spaces. The officer/person who fingerprinted you should sign his name, state his official designation on the space provided for the purpose on the card.
c.) In case you are a married woman, the order of writing your name is as follows:
c.1) Your maiden surname (father’s surname).
c.2) Your husband’s surname.
c.3) Your first name or given name.
c.4) Your maternal surname (family name of your mother)
d.) Attach a latest copy of your 2”x2” photograph with white background (taken within three (3) months prior to your application).
e.) Enclose Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00 Philippine currency or bank draft which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines. The following accredited banks are:
1. Philippine National Bank (PNB)
2. Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Co. (HSBC)
3. ANZ – A New Zealand Bank
4. METROBANK
5. Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI)
Upon completion of this requirement, send your accomplished form to:

You may also send your accomplished form to your relative/representative here in the Philippines together with your authorization letter authorizing him/her to transact business on your behalf. Your relative may visit the office of the Electronic Data Processing Division (EDPD) in NBI Taft Avenue, Manila for further assistance.
Upon receipt of your clearance certificate, please examine it for the presence of the embossed NBI DRY SEAL at its lower left portion, the clearance is invalid without it. You must also affix your clear and properly taken THUMBPRINT on the space provided for on the clearance certificate with the assistance of any local police in your area before submitting it to your end-user.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING/LIVING ABROAD AND WOULD LIKE TO RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE. HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT THAT WITHOUT LEAVING ABROAD?
Just send the original Personal Copy of your old NBI clearance certificate issued not earlier than 1998 if you still have it. Otherwise, follow instructions on item #8.
Prior to sending your old NBI clearance, you must attach latest copy of your 2”x2” photograph with white background (taken within three (3) months prior to your application) and photocopy of your passport with date stamped proving your presence abroad. Update any information that needs to be updated on your old clearance certificate, else writeSame Data if there are no changes. Renewal only allows changes in address and purpose of clearance. If there would be changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, you are advised to fill-up a new application form (refer to instruction on item #8) and attach a photocopy of your Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate as proof on changes applied.

I AM A FOREIGN NATIONAL AND HAVE LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES FOR QUIET SOMETIME. PRESENTLY, I’M IN MY HOMETOWN AND FOR SOME REASONS, I WAS ASKED TO SUBMIT A NBI CLEARANCE FROM YOUR COUNTRY WHERE I USED TO STAY. HOW CAN I GO ABOUT THIS?
Follow instructions on item # 8.
MY FATHER CANNOT WALK BUT HE NEEDS NBI CLEARANCE VERY BADLY. WHAT SHALL WE DO?
You may send a letter address to the Director of the NBI requesting for assistance. The Bureau will send a fingerprint technician to take fingerprint impressions of your father right in your residence.
WHEN I APPLIED FOR NBI CLEARANCE LAST YEAR FOR LOCAL EMPLOYMENT, I WROTE 1961 AS MY YEAR OF BIRTH. THIS YEAR, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD, BUT MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM THE NATIONAL STATISTICS OFFICE REVEALED THAT MY YEAR OF BIRTH WAS 1962. WHAT WILL I DO WHEN I RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE?
You will be required to fill-up a new fingerprint card. Name, Date of Birth and Place of Birth are vital information and any change thereof will be our permanent record. You will also be required to attach a copy of your NSO authenticated birth certificate.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO APPLY FOR A NBI CLEARANCE?
a. NBI-Victory Central Mall Applicants - for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within (30) minutes. For those with namesake, their applications is subject for further verification and have to wait for forty-eight (48) hours before clearances are released.
b. NBI-KIOSK Renewal Applicants –
1. METRO MANILA – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within 2-3 minutes. For those with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Clearance Center in Victory Central Mall for further verification. Clearance will be released the following day.
2. REGIONAL / DISTRICT OFFICES – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within the same day. For those with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Offices near their place for further verification.
c. NBI-SATELLITE Applicants -
1. COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days or upon advice by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC).
2. NOT COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – all clearances will be released after 7 working days upon application.
d. NBI-REGION/DISTRICT Applicants–
COMPUTERIZED REGIONAL/DISTRICT OFFICE – for those without namesake, Clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days or upon advice by the Officer-in-Charge.
I PETITIONED TO COURT FOR CHANGE OF MY NAME AND WAS GRANTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY NEW NAME WOULD BE REFLECTED ON THE CLEARANCE EVEN IF I USED MY OLD NAME IN MY PREVIOUS CLEARANCE.
- You will attach a copy of the court decision on your new application. Your new name will be reflected as your true name and your old name will appear as your alias.
I HAVE A COPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE WHICH I APPLIED ON JANUARY 12, 1990. IN JUNE 1995, I WAS ARRESTED FOR A CERTAIN CRIME. THE CASE WAS FILED IN COURT AND WAS DISMISSED. PRESENTLY, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD AND I AM AFRAID THAT THIS CASE WILL BE REFLECTED ON MY CLEARANCE WHEN I APPLY FOR ONE. PLEASE ADVISE ME.
- Since your case is already dismissed, this will not be reflected on your clearance. Instead, you will be interviewed at the Quality Control Section and will be required to submit the court disposition.
