"First Love" Grand Media Day
How did "First Love" started? Direk Paul Soriano shared how he approached Aga Muhlach who he said he really wanted to work with plus how he managed to make Aga say "Yes" to the said project.
The film revolves around a calculated and reserved businessman Nick Gutierrez, played by Aga Muhlach, and an impulsive and optimistic photographer Ali Castillo, played by Bea Alonzo, who meet in one of the streets of Vancouver, Canada upon saving the life of a stranger.
Aga shared how much he wanted to work with Bea Alonzo sharing that he watched all her films and admired her dedication and professionalism with her craft. Bea on the other hand said that when Aga called him, she instantly said yes because who wouldn't want to work with Aga Muhlach, she said, it's a dream come true for both of them.
While Nick seeks closure for his past mistakes, and Ali continues to be hopeful despite living with a congenital heart disease and being on the waiting list for a heart transplant, they challenge life's setbacks together by seizing the moment ("Carpe Diem"), taking risks, and ultimately giving each other a new lease on life.
Produced by Ten17P, together with ABS-CBN Films - Star Cinema and Viva Films, "First Love" features a bunch of "firsts" and shows that your first love is the person who makes you feel most alive.
The journey of Nick and Ali proves that love is as equally as equally present in quiet moments and small details as much as it is in grand gestures.
Aga and Bea instantly felt comfortable with each other thus Bea said made it even more easier for her to do her job because Aga is very nice and supportive.
"First Love" marks the comeback of Aga in a love story after almost eight years. In an interview, Aga expresses that his character is something he has not done before and is more than excited to share with the world. Meanwhile, this is Bea's second love story project this year following her most impressive portrayal in the much talked about 'Kasal' , which was shown in May 2018.
This is also the first time Edward Barber will be doing a project without his love team Maymay Entrata, even so, he said that Maymay is very supportive of him and always makes go out of her way to show him her support even though Edward was taping outside the country.
