Get into the holiday spirit with SM City San Mateo's Bright and Joyful Christmas centerpiece, a dazzling spectacle for 2023.

The Bright and Joyful Christmas highlights a 13-feet Christmas Star at the center of the display. The centerpiece also highlights lush Christmas trees adorned with sparkling ornaments. Two huge and cuddly teddy bears sit at the centerpiece to welcome kids and kids-at-heart while taking selfies and family photos as cherished souvenirs of the holidays. 

The ceremonial light-up of the Christmas centerpiece is led by Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares and San Mateo Vice Mayor Jimmy Roxas. They are joined by SM Supermalls Regional Operations Manager Don Edward Vijandre, SM City San Mateo Mall Manager Francis Lira, and Assistant Vice President for Marketing Jay Aranas. Performers from Coro De Sta. Ana serenade everyone during the pre-show and Madison Events performs a Christmas musical during the event launch. Santa Claus also stops by to bring cheers and holiday gifts to the children and guests in attendance.

Francis Lira, Mall Manager of SM City San Mateo, shares his excitement, saying, "We can't wait to see more families and friends preserving memories at our stunning Christmas display. Witnessing their heartwarming smiles once again when they visit the mall is truly a reason to be grateful."

Starting November 15, 2023, SM City San Mateo kicks off the Bears of Joy, a yearly charity initiative by SM Supermalls. Themed as B-POP Squad, shoppers are encouraged to participate by acquiring a pair of these cuddly bears for P250 from the Bears of Joy booth. One of these bears will be donated to a selected charity, and the other will be a delightful takeaway for the donor. SM City San Mateo will, in turn, donate the collected bears to a designated charitable cause.
