The Philippine Patriotic Movement, a group consisting of members from multiple sectors in the community namely Filipinos for Peace, Justice and Progress Movement (FPJPM) headed by Lorenzo "Boots" Cadsawan, People's Movement Against Poverty (PMAP) with their National Secretary General, Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (FEJODAP) with their Assistant National Secretary Geornel Haresco, National Labor Union (NLU) headed by David "Dave" Diwa and Philippine Association of Free Labor Union (PAFLU) headed by Eleuterio "Terry" Tuazon held a press conference in Quezon City to call for a national recovery program that will help poor Filipino families, especially during the pandemic.

They also called on those who are planning to run in the 2022 national elections to propose a solid plan to rebuild the country.

PPM's advocacy campaign is meant to help people choose not just the country’s next political leaders, but also encourage them to take part in tackling issues that candidates must address and take action.

It's evident, according to them that one of the main focus of the upcoming President once elected in 2022 should be the "recovery program" of the country from the pandemic. The country experienced a great loss because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The nation were driven by misery after one catastrophe to another and economic crisis continuous to loom as more and more people lose jobs as establishments shuts down. With this in mind, PPM said that the national elections should push through as scheduled on May 9, 2022.

PPM will also launch People's Consultations for sectoral representations, district assemblies in NCR then to different provinces in the country and lastly, online survey, you can sign up via phrecovery.com.ph. This is to focus on further discussions about how to address the national recovery and who the nation thinks can address the issues at hand.

Higit na dumarami ang ang nagugutom at naghihikahos na pamilyang Pilipino, wala ng ngang trabaho, tumataas pa ang presyo ng bilihin."

The recovery of the country should not be left to the government alone, the need to consult each Filipino citizen and other sectoral group and private sectors should also be the top priority so that their needs will be heard.

Sa pagbalangkas ng programang ito, dapat kasama at nasa sentro ang mga isyu at layunin ng mamamayan (In crafting this program, the issues and aspirations of the people should be included and at the center),” Cadsawan said.

FEJODAP also raised their still pending cry for help to the government citing that hundreds of jeepney drivers in the country has lost their means to earn a living because of the modernization  of transportation plus withholding the jeepneys for transporation. In the coming elections, they wish to be more heard.

Although during their Press conference, there are posters of Politicians who are allegedly running for President are posted in the room,  PMAP said they are not yet endorsing any candidate at the moment, while NLU president David Diwa said they will talk to the contenders and hear what solutions they have to offer. They will announce their candidates whom they will support on June 12, Independence Day.
