Brand Pilipinas Movement Co-Covenor actor Robin Padilla with Ms. Amor Maclang of Geiser Maclang

Over the years, the eagerness of the people specifically Filipinos to buy and patronize their own products slowly decreases due to some reasons. Based on some research, one of the reasons is that people are fond of buying international products simply because they see these products used by their idols, then there's the quality of the products and lastly the trend of today's generation.

If you we're to choose between two products with almost the same features, with almost the same specifications, but with different prices and different country sources, which product would you choose?

Patronizing our local products is one simple way that step by step we can show the world  our love for our country.

With this, a very relevant movement is formed to help promote our country and encourage everyone to support our locally made products, given that our products are of equal or are more high edged products than imported products.

Top Filipino brands and organizations have come together to launch a movement that hopes to propel the single most important brand for all Filipinos—Brand Pilipinas.

Ms. Amor Maclang talks about the first step about patronizing our local products - it's all about mind set.

The launch, held at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City, gathered more than a hundred top local brands who signed up to be partners in the Brand Pilipinas advocacy which aims to valorize local brands, locally made products and our homegrown artisans.

The full day event featured inspiring talks on Why Local B2B Brands are Slaying It, The Search for Origins – The Quest for Relevance in Food, Emerging Social Enterprises, Local is the New Premium Brand Pilipinas- The Arts, and finally, Why the Philippines is Poised to be the Next Tech Hub.

Apart from local brands, the movement also saw the participation of individuals and private businesses from various industries.

Mr. Robin Padilla shares details about how Brand Pilipinas was created

How will Robin Padilla encourage his co-actors in the Entertainment industry to also support the movement and make Filipinos love our local products more since they have much more exposure?

Brand Pilipinas hopes the movement will influence Filipinos to adopt a “Filipino-first” mentality by choosing homegrown brands over the more popular and highly-commercial international brands.

Ms. Amor Maclang shares that there's no such thing as an "ordinary citizen" because as a whole, Filipinos can work side by side as a whole and equally to promote our country especially our homegrown products plus we can also start by uplifting everyone by diminishing the word "LANG" which can be very degrading.

Guests were also treated to local performances from Dulaang UP and Pilipinas Got Talent star Jade Riccio. The event also featured a fashion show by noted Filipino weave designer Joseph Aloysius Montelibano, a perfect tribute to our Filipino artists.

The Brand Pilipinas Conference is organized and supported by the following partners: Brown & Proud Movement, GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications, Group of Five Creative Concepts, IPG Mediabrands, Liwanag ng Kapayaan Foundation, Robin Padilla, United Neon Advertising, and Vidanes Celebrity Management.

Let us love our own as well. Let us show Filipino love and Filipino support. Let us patronize Filipino made products!
