Thursday, June 07, 2018

Unfazed that the music industry has been loaded with a number of singers - young and old, LA Santos continues to live his dream of becoming a full pledge "artist" as what he calls himself in becoming what his fans call him as "The Singing Idol".

18 years old L.A. Santos, real name: Lnard Antonio Briosos-Santos has been very vocal about his love for music and at an early age he knew that he wanted to pursue his dream no matter what. Just like everyone else who wanted to take a shot in the showbiz industry, it was not easy as well for LA but he didn't give up. In 2016, LA launched his singing career and made his presence felt in the industry as front act for local and international artists like Jukebox Queens Imelda Papin, Claire dela Fuente and Eva Eugenio; Patti Austin, the Stylistics and Air Supply among others. LA shared that his musical influences is Bruno Mars and his genre in music is RnB, love songs, pop and a little of rap.

LA marked a significant milestone in his career when he released his first self-titled album under Star Music. He has a background in music when he studied in UST plus he also attended workshops.

Songs in LA Santos album include Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man,” Angeline Quinto’s “Hanggang Kailan,” Sarah Geronimo’s “Forever Is Not Enough,” a duet with his sister Kanisha, also a singer; “Mine,” “One Greatest Love,” “Miss Terror,” “Ikaw Kasi,” “Bakit Ang Pag-ibig,” and his hit song “Tinamaan.”

From being a guest performer and front act, LA Santos experienced another memorable highlight in his career when he staged his first solo concert at Music Museum titled "#Petmalu". His list of guest performers are some of the best in the industry like Ian Veneracion, Jaya, Jonalyn Viray, Michael Pangilinan, Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio and Claire dela Fuente. According to LA, he was very excited and at the same time overwhelmed to perform on the same stage with these performers he actually idolized but he learned a lot from them and it is something he will treasure for the rest of his life. Also present during his concert were his sister Kanishia Santos.

LA is not closing his abilities into singing alone, he is also venturing on acting and is part of an upcoming movie by Star Cinema. Acording to LA, he also loves to act and wishes to explore this field more because he wants to be a performer and actor rolled into one.

Since LA will be more visible and will act as well, he was asked if if it's okay with him to be paired with a love team, although it was ok with him, he said he wanted to be build up as a sole actor so that he can very well exercise his versatility, and he is also vocal that he has a crush on Janella Salvador since according to him she is very pretty and talented, he wishes to work with her someday.

LA also wishes to collaborate with Shanti Dope, Jona and Michael Pangilinan someday, plus he is also doing covers in his very own YouTube channel.

LA shares why he loves music and what keeps him going,  “I am able to express myself through music. It is said that music is a universal language. There is a song for every emotion, whether you are happy, depressed, in love, heartbroken, angry. It also helps you compose a song because may hugot ka. I get lost when I sing. I let people know who I am and how I feel through the songs I sing. In fact, I am a living example of the healing power of music."

LA also talks about his mother, Florita Santos. “I love my mom! Her unconditional love inspired me to dream big for myself, to conquer my fears, and to be the best version of myself. She is my biggest fan. Whenever I look in front of the stage, my mom is there, busy taking pictures and videos. I want to tell her that I love her and I’m thankful for all the sacrifices she has done for me.”

LA just recently finished a two-night mini concert at The Music Hall @ Metrowalk with the SRATS (the young stars of Asian Artist Agency). Soon, LA will be trooping to SM Malls for a series of shows: June 9 (SM Valenzuela), June 10 (SM Pulilan), and June 30 (SM Sangandaan).
