Encantadia Requel Premieres JULY 18! : Meet the Whole cast - Photos & Videos during Grand Presscon
Friday, July 15, 2016
It took 11 years just to make Encantadia “requel” (a remake and a sequel) come to life, yes, 11 years and after witnessing the grand presscon, meeting the characters, the actors behind it, the grand costume, breathtaking effects, amazing location and more, it's definitely
worth the wait and GMA Network is definitely on the right track.
According to Direk Mark Reyes, finding the heart and soul of four sisters, the task of choosing the right actresses (Glaiza de Castro, Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez and Gabbi Garcia) to play the four Sang’gre’s was most crucial. That crucial which took them quite some time to find the perfect actresses to portray the role and now that we're seeing them in the flesh, I do believe, they've made the right choice.
Encantadia’s budget, said Reyes, is no joke. The production is an equivalent of at least five shows, and so he feels the network’s mandate to provide the requel everything it needs is a stamp of confidence that he and his entire team will deliver.
“The network won’t pursue something like this if they feel they won’t recover,” he said. “The price of plywood 10 years ago has now been tripled. At walang natira sa original Encantadia that we used now, so we started from zero.” Just by looking at the grand costumes, it will really make you compute how much budget they have just to capture this amazing ensemble.
If rebuilding kingdoms from scratch was a challenge, making Encantadia fresh to a whole new generation of viewers was an even bigger task.
“Encantadia” tells the story of a vast enchanted realm divided into four kingdoms — Adamya, Sapiro, Lireo, and Hathoria. Helping maintain harmony in the realm are four precious stones. Tasked as keeper of these stones are the Sang’gres whose skills are believed to be the strength of Lireo. Trouble ensues when the inhabitants of Hathoria, threatened to gather the gems for themselves.

This will give you goosebumps!
Meet The Sang'gres:
Kylie Padilla is Amihan, the keeper of the wind gem, originally played by Iza Calzado. Amihan possesses the power of flight and wind manipulation.
Sanya Lopez is Danaya, the keeper of the earth gem, originally played by Diana Zubiri. Danaya has the ability to communicate with plants and animals, and shape-shift to any animal she would want to.

Some Trivia: Encantadia is divided into four kingdoms--Sapiro (north), Hathoria (east), Adamya (south), and Lireo (west)--inhabited by four different races.
Skilled warriors rule the kingdom of Sapiro, the Diwatas inhabit the kingdom of Lireo, the Hathors (fire-manipulators/blacksmiths) control the kingdom of Hathoria, and the Adamyans (little people/prairies) take care of the kingdom of Adamya.
