UNIQLO Launches Summer and Spring Collection 2020 at SM Aura, Taguig City

The Uniqlo U line from the Paris R&D Center led by Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire is simple and high-quality basic wear that incorporates modern design in the details. Each season the team utilizes the latest materials and advanced technologies to explore clothing styles not found anywhere else, pursuing the essence of UNIQLO LifeWear.
Women’s - Details and colors create an exceptionally fresh impression
Items incorporating a casual yet refined European essence have been freshened up with masculine silhouettes and new details. In the bottoms lineup, the silhouette of curved jeans is closer to a straight cut, and the selection has been broadened to include jersey fabric wide pants and pajama pants. Coats and dresses in wrinkle-resistant new materials and linen-like fabrics offer soft color tones, and are useful for layering in early spring. The airy and light comfort further broadens the playful styling.
Men’s - A focus on new items shows off the styling
This season reconstructs authentic men’s items in a modern style, introducing outfit coordinates such as guayaberas and BLOCKTECH trench coats. Items can even be used to create outfits matched with casual bottoms, such as drawstring pants with a clean-cut jacket, or sweatpants with a military-style jersey shirt. Cotton-blend materials with a linen-like feel, and matte textures that blend Tencel and Modal fibers, add a sophisticated impression to the styling. These items are sure to raise everyday comfort to a new level.

Outdoors - Bringing urban and natural landscapes together through design
Manmade structures coexist happily with nature in many urban settings. Houseboats have long been a feature of Amsterdam’s canals, for example, and are popular tourist attractions. A new initiative generating international attention is in Lower Manhattan, New York. Here, a waterfront megaproject featuring natural landscapes is being engineered to resist natural disasters, and is scheduled for completion in 2022.

BLOCKTECH Parkas protect from the wind and rain while at the beach or while strolling along the waterfront. Dry Sweatpants offer excellent ease of movement and offer quick-drying performance, making them perfect for everyday and sports use.
Pocketable UV Cut Parkas are incredibly light and compact, making them perfect to keep in the backpack in case the weather turns while cycling to work. Light Padded Parkas warm you after watersports. The modern silhouette makes them an excellent match for thick items, so they work well as everyday wear.
Then there are Long Parkas employing a shiny parachute fabric that is reminiscent of reflections off calm waters and skyscraper windows.
Work & Craft - Back to basics
Ensuring responsible consumption and production patterns is one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Efforts to expand urban farming for local consumption are thus attracting tremendous attention. That is because such agriculture can slash transportation costs and lower food wastage, thereby reducing the carbon footprints of cities. Rooftop farming can cut noise pollution and enhance insulation from the elements, contributing to greater comfort for city dwellers.
Themed “British Country Style,” the collection from designer Jonathan Anderson is the first to include items for children. This new line brings together the functionality and details of LifeWear with his playful take on such traditional British patterns as gingham check and patchwork. Commenting on today’s announcement, Jonathan Anderson said, “I’m looking forward to seeing our latest collection with UNIQLO in stores. It feels new and fresh but still has our JW Anderson signatures. And with the addition of Kids there is really something for EVERYONE.”
HANA TAJIMA FOR UNIQLO is a collection that expresses the world’s rich cultural diversity with graceful forms and exceptional comfort. The partnership between New York-based fashion designer Hana Tajima and UNIQLO enters its sixth year in 2020. Drawing inspiration from nature, these universal designs with a unique discriminating sense incorporated in fine details and focused on comfort, warmly support the everyday lifestyles of all women.
Abandoning the conventional thinking of adapting bodies to fit clothes
Women’s bodies continue to subtly change with age and the progression to each life stage. The aim of HANA TAJIMA FOR UNIQLO is a collection that adapts flexibly to such body diversity, and gently supports the wearer. Rather than forcing bodies to fit into conventional sizes, these clothes flexibly change to match individual forms. The shift to this extremely simple idea frees women from stress and worry over clothing, and provides them with an element of strength to wear.
First Love - Remember the excitement of discovering the joy of trying on clothes
As children we secretly tried on adult clothing, rolling up the sleeves to fit, and gathering the waist and fastening it with a clip. The 20SS collection is built around such memories, the excitement of first discovering the joy of trying on clothing. An oversized trench coat cinched with a belt creates a graceful drape, while bottoms with a loose-fitting silhouette sway with movement, drawing elegant lines. The color pallette, centered on light yellow, comprises many calm hues taken from plant life. This collection offers an affable image of women as strong, beautiful, and full of life.
For the Work & Craft category, Uniqlo have focused on organic materials, functionality, and attention to detail. Our Jogger Cargo Pants look great at the office, and with their relaxed styling you can go straight to your farm after work without needing to change. Casually styled Linen Cotton Jackets match well with Polo Shirts in the bright hues of fresh produce harvested from rooftops.
They reduced the environmental footprint of manufacturing processes in crafting Denim Jackets and Jeans in authentic, sophisticated cuts. The fading, crinkle effects, and pleat and gather irregularities are reminders of the diverse shapes and vitality of organically grown produce.
Art &Design - Inspiring creativity with functional beauty
In this category, we employed new ideas in minimalism, long and lean silhouettes, and a mineral color-inspired palette so people can always look their best and enjoy better, more comfortable living.
Trench Coats are wardrobe essentials for many people, and we have added tailoring touches and volume to enhanced styling, with contemporary monotone hues. Kando Jackets are perfect for spring in their light colors and blazer styling, with light fabric offering exceptional stretch for easy movement.
