KAIA has officially released the music video of their new single “You Did It.”

Helmed by Raymond “Pabi” Fabian and Francis “Kiko” Magundayao, the visuals mark the five-member group’s transformation from the debut years to their more confident and refined phase. It also features the origin story of the dragonfly, a metaphorical symbol of their journey as a Filipino girl group trying to make it in the competitive music industry landscape.

As the MV puts it, KAIA, with their wings spread, is now on a journey to explore greater distances.

The P-Pop group reveals that they’re also more involved in the concept of the music video, even going as far as embracing darker themes and injecting ideas inspired by their personal experiences.  

“We really like being involved because it helps us interpret our songs better and perform with more passion,” shares the Dalawa act in a press statement. “We made sure that everything, from outfits to the set design and even our facial expressions, aligned with the music's theme. The goal was really to elevate the message of the song through visuals, so we put in extra effort for this MV.”

KAIA also credited their two MV directors, “Pabi” and “Kiko,” for bringing immense creativity to the project and being highly collaborative with the visual storytelling.

The acclaimed pop act explains, “They were able to translate what we envisioned, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Their direction made us feel comfortable and confident on the set. Because of this experience, we were able to focus on our performances while they take care of the bigger picture. Overall, it was a collaborative effort that we are very proud of.”

“You Did It” is a dance-pop track that brims with Persian-style instrumentation and modern pop sensibilities. The song was produced by Oh-won Lee, Michael James Down, Will Taylor, and Primoz Poglajen, with lyrics by Jonell "J.O" Sarmiento, a former Z2Z member. KAIA also contributed to the overall concept and narrative of the track.

Through this song, KAIA aspires to be the voice or instrument of people who can't speak up and who don't have the courage to stand up for themselves. “So that when they listen to the song, they'll feel more confident and empowered,” adds the feisty five-piece collective.

P-Pop group KAIA is set to conquer the big stage with their first major concert, happening on December 19, 2023, at the Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan.

Dubbed KAIA IS HERE: 1st Solo Concert, the highly anticipated show promises to deliver knockout performances and top-tier numbers that serve as a testament to the Filipino group’s undeniable growth and commitment to their artistry.

The all-girl ensemble will be performing some of the crowd favorites and new songs live, including individual and group segments made specifically for their fans.

KAIA expressed their excitement about headlining their own solo show, which they consider a dream come true. “We had always dreamed of having our own solo concert, and now it’s happening,” shares the chart-topping act in a press statement. “While the pressure of it being our first solo show weighs on us, we're fully dedicated to delivering the best possible experience to our fans.”

To make the production numbers extra special, KAIA underwent intensive training in dancing, singing, and performing, including cardio workouts due to the dance breaks and surprises that they will be showcasing on the day of the show. 

“Despite the challenges, we pushed ourselves to deliver more than our best for our fans, ZAIA,” said the five-piece ensemble. To our ZAIA, thank you for your undying love and support for us. Because of all of you, our concert has become possible. In return, we will give you a performance that you will remember forever.”

Filipinos are known to be well-versed in making unique spins on trends, whether it’s food, art, or—perhaps most especially—music and dance. When the Korean wave, or Hallyu, took the world by storm around the mid 2000s, social media played a part in propelling it to the top of Billboard charts and the hearts of the global youth. “We want to be at the forefront for this new genre of OPM (original pinoy music),” says Paolo Pineda, Chief Commercial Officer of Kumu. “We want people to know that [Kumu] is an avenue that showcases the best Filipino culture has to offer.” With that said, Kumu is positioning itself as the P-pop platform of choice for fans to watch and listen to their favorite groups. “Beyond serving as a stage, we want Kumu to be the platform for the fans to really get to know the band members they idolize. They can engage with them via live streams and Kumustahans, and thereby build a stronger bond between the artists and their fanbases,” Pineda followed.
