Attention, ’90s kids and MarJo fans! It’s time to relive the kilig of the beloved Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal tandem as they reunite for 'Ex Ex Lovers', a heartwarming romantic comedy from Project 8 Projects.

Shot partially in picturesque Malta, 'Ex Ex Lovers' asks the question: Can old love have a second chance? The story begins when SC (Loisa Andalio) asks her mother, Joy (Magdangal), to bring her estranged father, Ced (Agustin), home from Europe for her wedding. Setting aside years of anger and unresolved feelings, Joy heads to Malta, delaying the wedding and reconnecting with Ced. Along the way, Joy unexpectedly rediscovers her own feelings for Ced—all while scheming against SC and her fiancé, Joey (JK Labajo).

The film highlights themes of forgiveness, rekindling old love, and the complexities of family relationships. With MarJo at the forefront, it also offers a nostalgic yet fresh narrative that appeals to all generations.

Nostalgia meets the present Adding to the movie’s charm are Loisa Andalio and JK Labajo, who serve as great representations of Gen Z. Their chemistry and fresh energy bring a modern twist to this classic romantic setup.

Director JP Habac, known for his Valentine’s Day hit I’m Drunk I Love You, shares his excitement about returning to the rom-com genre on the same love-filled playdate. “As a fan of the MarJo love team, it feels surreal to see them laugh and cry in a film I directed,” Habac says.

Interestingly, 'Ex Ex Lovers' was initially slated for streaming, but after a heartfelt discussion between Marvin, Jolina, and the producers, they decided it deserved a theatrical release. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime reunion that has to be experienced on the big screen,” shares the production team led by Antoinette Jadaone.

A comeback filled with feels

Marvin and Jolina feel deeply honored that Project 8 Projects entrusted them with this milestone project. The pair admits that despite years of not working together, the magic of their team-up is undeniable.

During their shoot in Malta, Filipinos abroad couldn’t contain their excitement, even organizing a flash mob in their honor. The nostalgia carried over to the Philippines, where their first mall show for the movie drew massive crowds reminiscent of their heyday. The two stars were visibly emotional and teary-eyed during a recent mall show in Cebu, feeling the overwhelming support from fans both old and new.

Marvin and Jolina promise that 'Ex Ex Lovers' will bring back the charm of Filipino romantic comedies that have been missed on the big screen—delivering quality entertainment rooted in Filipino values and the timeless magic of love stories.

Ronnie Alonte, Loisa Andalio, and Donny Pangilinan in ‘James and Pat and Dave’, a Valentines Day offering of Star Cinema

Three of today’s uprising young stars - Ronnie Alonte, Loisa Andalio, and Donny Pangilinan are set to be your Valentine’s date this 2020 with ABS-CBN Films-Star Cinema’s February offering ‘James and Pat and Dave.’

James and Pat and Dave, a coming of age love story, is a sequel to the hit romantic comedy movie of 2016, Vince and Kath and James.’

MEET THE CAST OF ‘James and Pat and Dave.’

Still helmed by director Theodore Boborol, the film revolves on what it takes and how it feels to become unchosen, which in this case is experienced by Ronnie’s character, James Raymundo, coming from the prequel.

“Naisip namin sa Star Cinema na what if ikuwento naman natin iyong ng taong hindi napili. May mahahanap ba silang happy ending? May love story nga ba sila? Bakit nga ba sila hindi pinili?”says Direk Ted.

The heart headed guy is exiled by his grandmother as a hostel employer. There, he meets the assistant manager Pat Reyes (Loisa Andalio), who is assigned to train him.

In a game of cat and mouse, Pat who also does online vegetable selling to fully support her brother tries to straighten James up while he tries to get out of doing the hardwork. James finds an opportunity to make Pat recommended a raise for him when she needs him to pretend to be her boyfriend to get rid of her returning ex, Dave Verona, portrayed by Donny Pangilinan.

As the discover the rejected souls behind their banters and bravado, they find themselves fallling in love for real. Will James be chosen this time?

“Ito ‘yung buhay ni James. Ano ang buhay ng hindi pinili? Yun ang aabangan ng mga tao,” Ronnie shares. “Excited ako, sana ma-appreciate nila.”

Headling a Valemtine’s movie is a a dream come true for three.

“Nakakakilig kasi dati nag-aabang lang ako tuwing Valentine’s ng mga ipapaabas ng Star Cinema. Ngayon, kaming tatlo yung nandito kaya sobrang blessed and honored talaga," says Loisa.

"I also believe this is also my biggest break", says Donny. "I watched the first movie (VKJ), so gusto ko rin makita talaga ano ang mangyayari this time."

Joining the cast of James and Pat and Dave are Awra Briguea, Myrtle Sarrosa, Ana Abad Santos, Bobby Andrews, Isay Alvarez, Bodjie Pascua, Odette Khan, and introducing CJ Salongga.

James and Pat and Dave is set to make the moviegoers' hearts happy starting February 12 in cinemas.

The four ladies talked about their much anticipated concert and they're all very excited about it as well. Although this is not the first time that they've performed as a group, they wanted to give their very best in this concert because they also want to dedicate it to their loyal fans.

Sue Ramirez can not only act and host as she is also born and blessed with powerful vocal pipes, which makes singing a part of her arsenal of talents. She was recently part of “I Can Do That,” wherein she bravely and gamely took on mind-blowing challenges week after week. Sue is going to be part of the upcoming fantaserye “La Luna Sangre” top-billed by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

From child actress to a YouTube singing sensation, Kristel Fulgar has definitely proven that she is ready to take her career to new heights and make her star shine brighter. Kristel is the first ABS-CBN artist to receive the Silver Play Button award for reaching 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, where she excelled in breathing new life to the songs. Just this summer, she became part of the top-grossing Mae Cruz-Alviar rom-com, “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Kristel is starting with a new opportunity as part of the upcoming sitcom “Rikipedia.”

Maris Racal and Loisa Andalio are “Pinoy Big Brother: All In” standouts who are now enjoying the limelight as mainstays in ASAP as part of the BFFs. Separately, they have inched their way into becoming household names and loved by TV viewers and moviegoers alike after being active on different TV shows and events.

Maris grew up loving singing as it runs in their family. She was known as the teeny-bopper inside Kuya’s house and was the well-loved Maxine in the hit MMFF entry “Vince, Kath, and James.”

Loisa is more than just a pretty face as she can also command the concert stage with her singing. In fact, she recently celebrated her 18th birthday with a jampacked solo concert. She is set to be part of new a soap opera after successful runs of her “Wansapanataym” episodes: “Candy Crush” and “My Hair Lady.” She is currently part of the primetime soap “My Dear Heart.”

The ladies also talked about their love life, if there's any and their future projects.

These young, talented, and beautiful ladies will be joined by Marvin Querido and Frank Mamaril as their musical director and event director, respectively, for a night of fun, music, and great performances.

Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita Premieres Monday January 19 after Flordeliza

ABS-CBN will introduce to viewers four women who will depict the different faces of love this Monday (January 19) as it airs its newest afternoon drama series “Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” starring Denise Laurel, Jane Oineza, Loisa Andalio, and Vina Morales.

Ms. Denise Laurel and Ms. Vina Morales opened the grand presscon with a song number. It was a live song number which showed how powerful their voices are.

During the Grand PressCon of Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita,the cast shared how excited and nervous they are on the upcoming pilot of their new teleserye nevertheless they know that people will surely be glued on the screen while they're watching it.

Being a single mom, Vina said, is tough, especially for a working mom like her. The mere thought of leaving her daughter alone while she’s at work already gives her a jittery feeling. That’s why she’s thankful to her family for tirelessly looking after Ceana while she attends to her showbiz commitments.

More so now that Vina has started taping for Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, the TV adaptation of the ‘80s film of the same title written by Ricky Lee. In the series, she plays Cecilia Macaraig-Natividad, the dutiful and loving wife of Christian Vasquez’s Leandro Natividad. They are happily living with their two children Corinne and Bea portrayed by Jane Oineza and Loisa Andalio, respectively, but that changes when Leandro meets his officemate Toni Briones (Denise Laurel) who falls in love with him despite knowing that he’s already a family man.

“You know, I always believe that when it comes to love, there’s no right and wrong kaya sinasabi na bulag ang pag-ibig so dun umiikot ang bawat karakter sa istorya.”

According to Vina, her role is too challenging. First, her character was originally portrayed by Susan Roces on the big screen. Second, series directors Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial always remind them to give life to the characters as natural as natural as can be.

Two of the loveteams to watch out for in Nassan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita are Jane Oineza and Jerome Ponce and Loisa Andalio and Joshua Garcia. You might remember them as being part of PBB Teens before and this will be the first time they will embark on a big project although Jane has been doing big projects before.

What will Cecilia do when she begins to experience the pains of her past all over again? How will her daughters make her even stronger when her family faces a big challenge? Will love be able to erase all the anger and bitterness in Cecilia’s heart?

Completing the cast of “Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” are Jerome Ponce, Joshua Garcia, and Aleck Bovick. Also joining the cast are Arron Villaflor are Sue Ramirez for their special participation. It is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial.

“Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” is based on the ‘80s movie written by multi-awarded screenwriter Ricky Lee while Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial will direct the series.
