“Sa inyo po ang aking buong pagpupugay ... ang aking paghanga, ang aking serbisyo, ang aking boto,” Dingdong said in a video message where he expressed love and admiration for his mother.

“Tulad ninyong lahat, mahal ko ang Nanay ko. Pero hindi ko lubos matukoy kung bakit, hanggang masaksihan ko mismo sa asawa ko,” he said.

In the video, Dingdong enumerated the virtues of a good mother, from protecting their children from any harm and putting their welfare ahead of herself.

“Kaytapang talaga ng mga Nanay. Handang makipaglaban, iharang sa peligro ang sariling katawan, makipagsapalaran, ipagpaliban ang sariling kapakanan. Walang aatrasan. Walang hamong sinusukuan. Ibang klaseng magmahal. Radikal!” he said.

He also called mothers as “miracle workers” for their ability to make ends meet despite having a meager budget.

“Lahat ng sakit, naiinda. Pagkaing isusubo na lang, ibibigay pa sa mga anak niya. Prayoridad niyang umangat ang buhay ng mga mahal niya,” Dingdong said.

While mothers are considered the “light of the house”, Dingdong said they also deserved to be called “pillar of the house” for doing more than they can for their family.

“Inspirasyon namin siya para patuloy na maging mabuti at gumawa ng mabuti. Kaya buung-buo kong itataya sa pangangalaga niya ang mga pangarap ko para sa aking mga anak, para sa aming pamilya.” Dingdong explained.

“Sana lahat tayo, ipagdiwang pang lalo ang mga ina. Dahil alam nating lahat na totoong dakila sila,” he added.

Dingdong supported Leni Robredo’s vice presidential run in 2016.

“Ngayong 2022, ang presidente ko ay si Leni Robredo. Boots Anson-Roa-Rodrigo po. Dating naniwala sa pangako ng disiplina at pagkakaisa, pero nakita at naranasan ang katotohanan,” Anson-Roa said in a video.

The actress, who ran for senator under the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) ticket of the late Fernando Poe Jr., also found fault in the the regime of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

She debunked claims that the Philippines had its “golden years” during the Martial Law years under Marcos.

“Sabi ng lola mo, maganda ang panahon noon? Yung more than 20 years ng diktadurya? Naranasan ko lahat ‘yan,” she said.

Initially, Anson-Roa said she believed that discipline under a Martial Law rule would lead to a better Philippines.

“Pero nakita ko, with my own eyes ang pagbagsak ng ekonomiya. ‘Yung gutom at kawalan ng trabaho. Naranasan ko magkaroon ng mga kaibigan na bigla na lang nawala,” the actress said.

“Mga simpleng tao, ‘yung iba natagpuang patay, karamihan hindi na nakita,” she added.

The actress is hoping the current generation of Filipinos would never experience the horrors of Martial Law by fighting for the country and choosing Robredo as the country’s next president.

“Diyos ko, mga apo. Sana hindi niyo maranasan. Sana hindi na natin maranasan muli.  Nobody recovers from that pain. Take it from me, mga apo. Hindi natin golden years yon,” Boots added.

Aside from Boots, several celebrities recently expressed support for VP Leni, including host Vice Ganda, actresses Nadine Lustre, Kathryn Bernardo, Maricel Soriano and Liza Soberano, and actor John Arcilla.

Fresh from her Marawi City visit, Angel spearheaded the house-to-house campaign in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental where she urged fellow supporters to speak to 10 people a day and encourage them to vote for VP Leni in the May elections.

Marjorie, for her part, joined Aika Robredo, daughter of the Vice-President, as they visited several barangays in Quezon City. The actress actually started her house-to-house campaign the other day as she visited some areas in Pasig City, where she convinced voters that VP Leni is the most qualified to lead the country.

“This was the reason why I decided to do house-to-house yesterday with other volunteers because we want to convince more of our fellow Filipinos that VP Leni is the most qualified to lead our country,” Marjorie said on Instagram.

The “PieDu” love team of actor Edu Manzano and actress Cherry Pie Picache went around a public market in Quezon City and talked to vendors who support other candidates about VP Leni and her plans for the country. They also met some supporters of other candidates but they provided them with pamphlets and reading materials containing Robredo’s track record and accomplishments.

Actress-singer Agot Isidro also joined the house-to-house campaign in Tagbilaran, Bohol and visited a public market together with VP Leni’s campaign manager, former Senator Bam Aquino.

Film and TV actress Pinky Amador and VP Leni’s sister-in-law, Dr. Josephine Robredo-Bundoc, discussed the Vice President’s “Oplan Angat Agad” platform to residents as they went around Dumaguete City.

The Vice President’s Oplan Angat Agad” platform is focused on employment, health and education.

Leni Robredo aims to assure that at least one family member is receiving a monthly salary while those who lost their jobs will get a three-month financial assistance while looking for employment. She also commits to provide each and every family with a free doctor and to make health care affordable for all Filipinos, and seeks to provide quality education to students that would help them secure their dream jobs in the future.
