Zéla releases Lockhart: A Bold and Fearless Album Championing Women Empowerment

Zéla is carving her own name as a Filipino-American singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer whose musical journey began in the USA. Known for her fearless, a bit dark yet genre-blending and artistic versatility, she now shines as AQ Prime Music’s first-ever PPop soloist, driven by a mission to inspire through her craft. She writes based on her experience and one of those is being a victim of bullying.
Her debut single, “Karma”, dropped in September 2023 and quickly earned her the title of Philippine Pop Top New Artist of the Year just months later. A year after, she followed up with the infectious “Pogi Boy”, then celebrated her birthday by gifting fans the heartfelt track “01/01”.
February 2025 marked a career milestone when Zéla became the only PPop soloist to perform at Manila’s first-ever Waterbomb Festival where she met her Korean idol Jessi. Now, after a short hiatus, she returns with her highly anticipated debut studio album, “Lockhart”—a 10-track collection largely written by herself.
Zèla shares her experiences about being an artist, being a victim of bullying and rising through it.
On her first studio album launch at AQ Prime Studios where invited Press and Media were present, Zèla shares how she is very excited about her very first studio album. She was hands on with all the preparations for this album aside from being the composer of the 10 tracks. She envisioned using Taro cards when it comes to the visual aspect of this album, you can see this when you watch the official music video of her carrier single, "ACE".

The 24 year old PPOP soloist shared that growing up, she's a very timid girl which is why she became a target of bullying but his experience didn't stop her from rising above her ordeal. Her different experiences in life gave her more eagerness and drive to compose more songs about it, which is why her album is all about women empowerment.
Although there are many PPOP artists now, she believes that what she can offer will still stand out from the rest and for her, there's no competition because they're all promoting Filipino artistry which inspires the youth and everyone who needs a push with whatever they are going through. Music definitely gave her an inspiration in life and she hopes whe can also share her passion in music to her supporters.

Zèla wants to collaborate with the one and only Sarah Geronimo, G22 and BINI. She is also welcoming the idea of composing songs to the other artists who blends her vibe. Aside from singing, if given a chance, she would also want to try acting in the future but for now, she would love to focus more on promoting her album.
