The Huang Lion and Dragon Dance Group is thrilled to invite everyone to witness the energy, artistry, and cultural tradition of Lion Dance at their upcoming competition! This is your chance to see some of the most talented teams showcase their skills, strength, and creativity as they bring the lion to life through mesmerizing performances.

Mr. Gaius Uy | Founder of Huang Lion and Dragon Dance Group

Mr. Gaius Uy shared that Huang Lion and Dragon Dance Group started their business with just 2 lions and 1 second hand dragon. Their initial tram consisted of 15 personnel.

The company's journey began with Sir Uy's childhood passion. He was exposed to a special Wushu class at school which eventually introduced him to lion dancing. His love for the art form grew, starting from his school days actively joining lion dance groups at the age of 11. His part experience with his previous team dragon dance team made him motivated to create his own group wherein they can foster a positive environment where employees feel valued while celebrating the art of lion dancing.

Fast-forward to the present, they have now grown and owns 16 brand new lions and 4 brand new dragons. Their team size expanded to an impressive 118 employees creating a strong, talented group dedicated to the art of lion dancing.

What can the audience expect in the upcoming competition? "The different performances will feature traditional chinese routines with lion and dragon costumes. While it’s primarily chinese influence, makikita din natin how we are able to bring in the Filipino style in doing these dances."

"Goal is to showcase the Chinese- Filipino heritage and celebrate culture in a meaningful way. At the same time, gusto namin pakita na very talented ang mga Pinoy and Chinoy." Mr. Gaius Uy shared. "Well, we try our best to give the best. We are bringing in different teams to showcase different talents. Acrobatics also are at a different level. We’re very excited to see new dances and routines."
