Movie Review: Green Bones starring Dennis Trillo & Ruru Madrid, a must-watch film! #MMFF2024
Tuesday, December 24, 2024For a country that has a rotten justice system, and this is very evident through the years, even as we speak, this movie is truly an eye-opener.
Green Bones Official Trailer
From the moment I saw the trailer of Green Bones, I was intrigued. I knew of course that it was a good film judging from the actors especially Dennis Trillo. Plus we have an amazing director on board, Zig Dulay. But I didn't want to expect anything yet until I watched the whole film.
PLOT:
A new corrections officer, Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), is torn with his feelings of grief and anger as he confronts Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), a criminal set to be released from San Fabian Prison and Penal Farm after serving time for the murder of his own sister.
Gonzaga is caught in a struggle between his responsibilities and his emotions, questioning what justice really means, the limits of humanity within prison walls, and what it takes to find redemption.
First, Ruru Madrid. He has come a long way from being a cutie actor paired with a love team fast-forward to a mature actor who can now deliver his emotions well on the screen. He got his own moments in the film and he managed to act well with Dennis Trillo even if he knew he would be swallowed whole because of the depth of some scenes.
Iza Calzado and Alessadra de Rossi. We knew they're only a supporting role here but they managed to be notable even if they're barely seen. That's what an actor should always remember, that even if you play a minor role, or even a passing role, if you manage to make the audience remember you, then you are indeed doing a great job as an actor.
Sienna Stevens. The adorable kid who played Ruth, the daughter of Iza Calzado in the film. I love all her scenes with Dennis Trillo! She is a very impressive child actress and let's remember her name because for sure, she will go a long way. Very talented!
Lastly, Dennis Trillo. A versatile actor who can really make you feel that he is not just an actor but the real person, story-telling what is happening in the movie. At the first scenes of the film, you will be intrigued with his character, there will be moments that you will doubt him but in the end, he surely proved that he is that kind of man.
For years, he has done several genre of movies and dramas, frankly speaking, I believe he can do everything. What a gem in the Entertainment Industry, he surely deserves to be win in the Best Actor category. From Pulang Araw to Green Bones, what more can we expect from him 👏🏻
Green Bones is a quality film, amazing cinematography, good story line which is very realistic. The taught provoking film makes you realize if you have been living not just a kind person but were you a good person all this time? Will people remember you as a good person? Do you believe in Green Bones? What can we do as an ordinary citizen to help those who were searching for the justice that they deserve?
Definitely worth-watching. 👍🏻👏🏻

Directed by Zig Dulay.
