Miss Universe PH 2020 Rabiya Mateo continues her reign as she is now officially a KAPUSO

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is set to conquer new horizons as she is now officially a Kapuso. She signed her contract with GMA Network last November 18 and she is set to do several projects at the said network.
After showing her strut on the international pageant scene, the 25-year-old model and beauty queen looks forward to honing another set of skills as she continues her royal reign in the Kapuso Network.
“I'm very happy today. I can’t believe that I am officially signing with GMA. I can finally say, I'm officially a Kapuso!” said Rabiya. “After Ms. Universe Philippines, I've been asking myself, 'What's next? What am I going to do? Babalik na ba ako sa pagiging Physical Therapist?' But I'm just happy that the people here in GMA did see my potential as an actress, as a host, and I'm excited sa mga parating na projects.”
The beauty queen also expressed her gratitude to the Kapuso Network for seeing her potential and considers it as the perfect door for her.
“My heart is full of endless gratitude to everybody who saw my potential…I just came from a simple life, I had my humble beginnings, I have my struggles. But I realize, I have to go through those hardships because God will open that perfect door for you. Today, I can say that door is my GMA family, kaya maraming, maraming salamat po!"
An Iloilo native, Rabiya graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. Earlier this year, she represented the Philippines in the prestigious 69th Miss Universe pageant and secured a spot in the Top 21 finalists.
After her guestings in The Boobay and Tekla Show and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, she is gearing up for her debut series Agimat ng Agila Book 2 and guesting in Wish Ko Lang soon on GMA-7.
During the Bloggers Conference for Rabiya Mateo, she mentioned how excited she is on this new chapter of her life since she is embarking something new and very challenging to her as well. She is very thankful to GMA Network for seeing her potential and giving her all the support and guidance that she needs.
Since now that she is finally part of the Showbiz industry, she was asked which if the Kapuso artists she wants to work with and she instantly replied "Marian Rivera". She said that she is a big fan of Marian and she wishes to meet her personally as well. She would also love to work with Alden Richards because she was able to watch his latest movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye" and she was amazed by how passionate Alden is when it comes to his craft. Lastly, she would also want to work with DingDong Dantes since she have watched several of his shows in the past and she is a big fan.
When asked about her being compared to Sanya Lopez because they can be like twin sisters, she said that she feels honored to be compared to Sanya because she is a well known and good actress. Rabiya was also given the chance to work with the man behind Agimat ng Agila which is Bong Revilla Jr. and she said it is such a memorable experience working with an amazing cast. She added that he was very helpful to her, giving her pointers in every scene.
When it comes to the pageant scene, Rabiya is wishing this year's candidate Beatrice Gomez all the best. She is confident that she will be able to take home that most coveted crown.
Rabiya said that she has a lot of bucket things to do come 2022 but she is willing to take everything step by step especially with the matters of her heart. She is happy where she is now and contented that she is also fulfilling a dram of becoming an actress.
