Dine-In Safely at SM Supermalls
Sunday, June 28, 2020
We surely missed dining in at our favorite restaurants for months. Now that restrictions have gradually eased, food establishments at SM Supermalls are now accepting dine-in customers with safety and health measures in place.
With Rizal under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ), restaurants, fast food and food stalls are now allowing 30% operational capacity for dine-in services. Some of the mandatory minimum requirements for operation include – implementation of contact tracing measures via health checklist per customer, thermal scanning, provision of alcohol and wearing of facemasks before entry.
Queueing for orders and entry also observe one (1) meter distance on all sides. Chairs are distanced at least one (1) meter apart as well. For face-to-face seating, there are plastic dividers in between and chairs are positioned diagonally. The maximum number of allowable persons are indicated at each store front. Food servers consistently observe personal hygiene, handwashing and wearing personal protective gear like masks and face shields. Alternative cashless transactions are also available per establishment to minimize personal contact.
To maintain physical distancing, SM Supermalls extend dining spaces by utilizing open areas such as its atriums and event centers. Tables and chairs are strategically distanced from each other with proper markings per table to guide diners on where to enjoy their food. This is SM’s continuing effort to promote health and safety while dining.
