The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) has everyone cooking and baking these days. Kids who are very much at home are not to be left behind. Last April 28, 2020, the much awaited annual San Miguel Foods Culinary Center Kids Kitchen Camp (KKC), now on its 25th year, conducted a live online learning session hosted by Home Foodie. 

A watch party was also hosted by its event partner Petron Gasul on Facebook. The event garnered over 8K views. Home Foodie resident chefs, Martin Narisma and Randy Oliva, taught the kids and kids-at-heart five #Madalicious recipes. 

Tender Juicy Fries: Meaty fries made with only kids-can-tell Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs dredged in Magnolia All Purpose Flour, dipped in Magnolia Brown Eggs and coated with bread crumbs and fried in Golden Fry Palm Oil. It’s crispy outside and oozing with soft, meaty goodness inside. 

3-Ingredient Cheesecake Bars: An easy-to-do dessert that combines the fluffiness of marshmallows, the crunchy texture of La Pacita Prima Toast, and the creaminess of Magnolia Cream Cheese. 

Choco Peanut Cookies: An instafix 3-ingredient cookie recipe made with Magnolia Pancake Plus with Chocolate Syrup, Cookbest Coconut Oil, and Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter, this can be baked in the oven toaster or oven and done in 5 minutes. 

Meaty Mac ‘n Cheese: A filling luncheon meat and cheesy pasta dish using only 5 ingredients—Purefoods Luncheon Meat, Magnolia Cheezee Squeeze Milky White Spread, Magnolia Quickmelt Cheese, Golden Fry Palm Oil, and macaroni. 

Rocky Road and Honeycomb Crunch: Level up Magnolia Ice Cream Gold Label Rocky Road or any favorite Magnolia Ice Cream Gold Label or Best of the Philippines variants with some homemade Dalgona-like caramel crunch candy that is so easy to whip up. Other than a topping, it’s great to eat on its own in moderation. 

The Kids Kitchen Camp exists to instill love and appreciation for food and cooking while introducing various San Miguel Foods products that provide ease in meal preparations. “The quarantine situation is an opportune time for parents to bond with the family and teach their children basic life skills such as cooking and baking. Children who are involved more in meal preparation enhance their skills and tend to eat more, which promotes better nutrition,” says Llena Tan-Arcenas, San Miguel Foods Culinary Center Services Manager.
