Just a day after its inauguration, the Rising HeARt marker in San Jose del Monte (SJDM) City in Bulacan became an even more memorable spot for 25 couples. SJDM Mayor Arthur Robes officiated the wedding ceremony of the members of the Dumagat tribe.

The Dumagats one of the major groups of indigenous peoples in the Southern Tagalog region. Though they are know to be nomadic, a number of them are now living in more than 47 government-designated settlement areas. SJDM hosts one of these settlements.

"This is just one of the many ways for us to embrace the indigenous peoples who are part of our community," said Mayor Robes. "They can continue with their traditions but, at the same time, they can be part of the bigger community. They're one of us. Officiating a wedding ceremony for them is a great honor. I thank them for letting me become a part of their special day."

The couples, who wore their tribal ensembles, exchanged their "I dos" and Mayor Robes made their unions official.

The Rising HeARt was unveiled last February 10 to increase the public's awareness of SJDM's bid to be recognized as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

Moreover, the marker is meant to be "a constant reminder that to all of us that the world, despite the chaos, will always be governed by peace, love, and compassion towards one another." The marker has an accompanying heart-shaped structure that serves a love lock repository.

There's also a Freedom Wall plus the magnificent view of the mountains atop with hugot lines that will match the mood of the love birds who will visit the said tourist spot.

Mayor Robes stated, "The Rising HeARt marker is really living up to its name. The mass wedding happened at the perfect time, as Valentine's Day is already very near. There's no better way to celebrate it."
