City Government of San Jose Del Monte Bulacan receives Seal of Good Local Governance headed by Mayor Arthur Robes

Formerly called the “Seal of Good Housekeeping”, this award given by the DILG seeks to: (1) Sustain the practice of transparency and accountability in the use of public funds; (2) Prepare for challenges posed by disasters; (3) Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society; (4) Encourage investments and employment; (5) Protect constituents from threats to life and security; and (6) Safeguard the integrity of the environment.
Introduced by the late and former DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo in 2011, the SGLG monitors and awards LGUs with good performance in internal housekeeping specifically in the areas of local legislation, development planning, resource generation, and resource allocation.
As an incentive, this year’s recipients will receive the 2019 SGLG marker; eligibility to the DILG Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to finance their local development projects; and priority access to other programs and capacity development assistance from the DILG.
The conferment of The Seal was held at The Manila Hotel last November 4 for Regions I, II, CAR, MIMAROPA and NCR; and November 5 for the remaining regions.
The City Government of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan has met the test posed by Authentic and Responsible Public Service as it received the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2019. As an SGLG recipient, will be conferred with the 2018 SGLG marker; the eligibility to the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to finance its local development initiatives; and, access to other programs and capacity development assistance from the DILG.
Mayor Arthur Robes shared how happy and grateful he is because of this recognition and he stated that this will not be accomplished without the help of his colleagues and fellowmen who are united for the rising city. He is also blessed with a very supportive wife Congresswoman Florida Robes who is also very hardworking and reliable in doing everything she can for the city.
Furthermore, Mayor Robes added that this is a wonderful birthday gift since he will be celebrating his birthday on November 6. An intimate family gathering will be his celebration and also bonding time as well plus on November 5, he will have a celebratory concert featuring some bands and Iconic singer Randy Santiago at San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
