Ganados succeeds Catriona Gray, who brought home the Miss Universe 2018 crown to become the Philippines’ fourth winner in the prestigious pageant after Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

The winning answer of Gazini Ganados during the Q and A segment

Bobby Barreiro: If you win the crown tonight, what can you do to get more women in the workplace?

Answer: If I win the crown tonight, what I will do is to promote my advocacy. My advocacy is for us women to fight for our rights and for the elderly care and for us to be able to know that someone is loving and someone is pushing us to whatever ambitions that we have. We will be able to rise from our decisions to whatever dreams that we have, goals that we have, and we will achieve it because of those values, those wisdoms that they gave us. Thank you.

Born Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados on December 26th 1996, this 5’8″ model-slash-beauty-queen is a pageant veteran having placed in the Top 15 during the Miss World Philippines 2014 pageant.

Born in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte to a Filipino mother and a Palestinian father, brown eyed brunette grew up with her mother and grand parents not meeting her Palestinian father. During the Bb. Pilipinas Talent competition, she chose to dance a middle Eastern belly dance as a throwback to her roots. She hopes that being in the Binibini nationals would pave the way to finally meet her biological father.

Gazini is currently a resident of Talisay City, Cebu. Although she only moved to Cebu when she was  on her sixth grade. Growing up in the province, she was surrounded by a lot of pets and had pigs, goats, turtles and birds. Even now, she still loves animals with a couple of pet dogs in her home in Cebu.

A Tourism graduate from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, she recalls that growing up she wanted to be a doctor and actually took up a 6 month nursing course. That was before her love of travelling took over and she took up Tourism instead. Her love for travelling is matched by her love of the outdoors and sports. A varsity volleyball player in high school, she was a libero (a highly defensive position) although she mentioned that she can also be an all-around player. She also loves boxing, yoga and adventure activities like hiking, surfing, trekking and diving.  An interesting thing to note is that she started being a vegetarian this year, although she still have some ‘cheat days’.

Gazini has been with Origin Model Agency for 5 years now. And despite not  having professional training as a model, she says has not yet tripped in any show she has done.
