Derrick Monasterio joins the longest running musical RAK OF AEGIS now on Season 7 starting July!

For the past years, Kapuso hunk actor Derrick Monasterio has been doing what he loves which is acting. In 2018, he has been busy with teleserye when he was paired with Barbie Forteza in Inday will always love you then Dragon Lady in the first half of 2019. He also made a remarkable film with Sanya Lopez when he did the film Wild and Free under Regal Films. He's been very busy that one might think, will Derrick be showcasing something new soon? Well, here it is!

Derrick will be part of the original hit Pinoy musical "RAK OF AEGIS" which will showcase not only his craft in acting but also in singing -LIVE!

During the Blogger's Conference for Derrick, he shared some details on how he auditioned for the role and how overwhelmed he is with the whole experience saying that doing movies and teleseryes is completely different when you're part of a stage play because it is live. He added that his discipline and being more professional is tested here because he needs to be on time during rehearsals.

Starting this July, Derrick will be part of the longest running musical in the country and he will be playing the role of TOLITS. He sampled a song that he will use in the play.

Derrick shared that even though no one is really musically inclined in his family aside from him, he said that he really loves to sing even when he was young. "Before I went into acting, I really loved singing. So, when I saw an opportunity, I decided to join. I was really a fan, I've seen Rak of Aegis before and now I'm happy to be part of it." Derrick added that one of his bucket list os to be part of a theatrical play, one of his favorite plays is Phantom of the Opera and he also dreams to achieved what Aicelle Santos and Rachelle Anne Go achieved, to perform in a play internationally. 

Derrick also said they're all equally treated in the play. He was not treated someone special just because he is an actor, he also undergone audition and he also have to work hard just as everyone else. He knows that he still has a lot to prove compare to those veteran theater actors and they're all very helpful. 

He assured everyone that he will give his very best because being part of Rak of Aegis is a big blessing for him.

RAK OF AEGIS returns on July 5 and will run until September 29 at PETA Theatre Center. Tickets are available for VIP ₱2,500, ORCHESTRA CENTER ₱2,200, ORCHESTRA SIDE ₱1,700, BALCONY  CENTER ₱2,200 and BALCONY SIDE ₱1,000.
