Aiai Delas Alas quits as manager of Ex Battalion because of 'unprofessionalism'
Wednesday, May 15, 2019
A tearful comedy queen Ai Ai Delas Alas announced today, May 15, that she is no longer the manager of rap group EX Battalion.
According to Ai Ai, lately, she's been experiencing a lot of stress for handling Ex Batallion. When it comes to being talented, she shared that they really have talent but when it comes to "professionalism" it seems the group is still not used to being serious to their work. From being late to some projects and to "no-show" in their provincial concerts. Ai Ai feels harassed that evn though she already talked to them several times about committing to certain projects, Ex Battalion seems to neglect this.
Ai Ai started managing Ex Battalion in 2018 , although they signed a two year contract, she said that her lawyer will fix things in a legal matter so that she can finally say that she is no longer connected with the rap group. Her goal then when she agreed to managed the group is to bring them to mainstream since most of their fans are from online.
Ex Battalion first rose to fame after they released "Hayaan Mo Sila," the music video for which has amassed over 55 million views on YouTube alone. Their other song, "SouthBoys," has nearly 19 million. They have since appeared in numerous TV shows, and performed at the recently concluded MYX Music Awards 2018.
In between the interviews, in a rare situation, the comedy queen was seen tearful saying that, "at least nakatulong ako sa kanila, yun naman ang goal ko.
Ai Ai added that her husband, Gerald, is very concerned of what she's going through which can also affect her state of health. Ai Ai added that her family particularly her children never made it to the point of making her cry out of frustration and stress but her situation of managing the group made her experience it. She added that feels like the group doesn't appreciate her efforts and they don't respect her as well, "yung feeling na parang laging in bad faith yung intentions ko sa kanila lalo na when it comes to money."
Ai Ai even shared some instances on what she has to go through because the group is showcasing being unprofessional when they have tours in the province. Some would be late for their flight because they overslept and some will not show at all. Another problem she encountered was just recently when they will have an upcoming show but unfortunately, Mark Maglasang, one of the members of Ex Battalion, split up from the group. It was so sudden that they have to turn down the project because the producer is expecting a complete Ex Battalion to perform for the people.
When she was asked what were her learning in managing a talent, Ai Ai said instantly, "'Wag na mag-manage. Mag-aartista na lang ako, magpo-produce, magko-concert. Ayoko na mag-manage kung ganun lang din," she ended.
