Chef Laudico Guevarra's welcomes the Yuletide Season with New Dishes that will remind you of HOME

We all know that Christmas season in the Philippines starts the moment we hit BER months and stays till January, it's indeed a long holiday tradition wherein everyone is busy preparing for big gatherings, shopping for gifts and decorations but above all, looking for that perfect destination that will be a great venue for a memorable get together with family and friends and of course, one of a kind dishes that will make the experience even more worthwhile. 


When you hear "Guevarra's", Filipino food enthusiasts will surely know who exactly owns it - no less than rock star Chef Rolando Laudico and his equally accomplished wife chef Jacqueline Juarez Laudico. 

One would experience both Filipino heritage and exemplary culinary journey at Chef Laudico Guevarra’s. It's grandiose structure is rich in heritage splendor and reminiscent of a house built in the 1920's. 


The picturesque garden surrounded with rich greeneries has been the backdrop of several weddings, debuts and other special occasions.

The wide staircase that leads to the main resto gives you the feel of aristocratic elegance and takes you back in time when some of the important guests in their Maria Clara outfits would grace the said venue.

Fast forward December 2018, the sprawling yard surrounding the 1920s structure is decked in red and green holiday cheer. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance is equally festive. The mood extends to the buffet table where dishes especially whipped up for the season await guests.

As you enter the dining area, get ready to be enthralled with art-deco pieces that will touch your love for old charm and vintage collections. They also lighted their Christmas tree which is perfect for those who loves to take photos and selfies. 

This Yuletide Season, Chef Laudico prepared something gastronomic perfect for the whole family that will surely remind everyone of how Filipino celebrate the traditional Christmas Noche Buena. Chef Laudico together with his wife Chef Jacqueline will continue its undertaking to provide guests with flavorful buffet that boasts of great flavor and freshness despite that issue that hover that buffet restaurant for the past months, Guevarra's assures everyone that their dining experience will be one of a kind and the resto has been only closed for 5 days for the inspection. They were inspected by the City Health Office, Department of Health & 3 private agencies that assures Guevarra's is clean and can full operate.

“We prepared items that are popular during Christmas,” says chef Rolando “Lau” Laudico. The line-up includesOrange Chicken Galantina (chicken stuffed with seasoned pork meat in orange sauce), Pata Hamonado(pineapple-cured fresh pork ham), Roasted Turkey with Castañas and Chorizo, Menudo Pastel Pie(menudo meat pie in pastry crust) and Baked Macaroni Kaldereta (baked mac with beef kaldereta).

“We incorporated a lot of queso de bola and ham,” he addsbefore pointing to the Queso de Bola Croquettes (edam cheese croquettes with surprise filling), and Ham and Cheese Ensaymada Sandwich. “We are also serving embutido because that’s a Christmas staple in our home,” he shares.


“We have traditional items, that people look for during Christmas,” injects chef Jacqueline “Jac” Juarez-Laudico.So the dessert section features Bibingka and Puto Bumbong. “I included the Crema de Fruta(cake with fruits, cream, and gelatin) because that’s something that I was making and selling when I was in high school and I remember how everyone ordered so much during Christmas,” she waxes nostalgic.

The Yuletide dishes were revealed during a Christmas lighting ceremony witnessed by a few special friends and members of the media. During the meal, singers JV Decena and Joaquin Garcia filled the air with music as guests sampled the new creations.  The choir from Children’s Joy Foundation (CJF) also serenaded the crowd. CJF houses disadvantaged children and has been a beneficiary of Chef Laudico for several years.
