Meet Pancake Hong: Your newest Korean Vlogger in town

Saturday, July 14, 2018

We all know that Vlogging is extremely popular now around the globe specifically here in the Philippines. Vlogging has been one of the many social media means that netizens can express themselves freely plus they can tackle any topic or niche they want to - from food, travel, beauty, fashion, entertainment scene and every day activities.

This is where Hong Su-Bin or better known as Pancake Hong gets busy, by vlogging and interviewing some of the key people here in the Philippines.

Pancake Hong was born in Korea. She studied and earned her bachelor's degree in the Philippines before taking a job in South Korea as a television entertainment reporter for 4 years. She decided to move back to the Philippines again to pursue her passion. Just the perfect timing since she is also welcoming the chance to be an actress as well, she was recently part of GMA Network's My Korean Jagiya together with fellow Korean singer/actor Alexander Lee who is also currently in the country.

Having stayed in the country for almost half of her life, Pancake tried to learn to speak in Tagalog and she is doing great with it. It wasn't hard for her to mingle with everyone especially since she also has Filipino friends. Since she is currently here in the country, she has a lot of ideas for her vlog. Just this July, she launched her self-titled YouTube channel.

Pancake got the chance to interview her favorite Filipino hip hop group EX BATTALION. According to her, it was a fun experience working with them because they are very friendly and she learned a lot more from the group including their personalities and their passion for music. She wishes to interview Shanti Dope as well in the future since she really love rap. Not only is she interested in doing entertainment segments, she also would like to travel and explore different places in the country showcasing the culture, people, food and popular places in the Philippines so that she can also share it to her Korean friends and more.

Pancake also seems to be naturally born for the entertainment industry. At 20 years old, she joined the international beauty contest Miss Young International where she became the winner. She said that it was a challenged for her at that time since she only have herself to do everything like her make up, hair, clothes while other contestants have their own make up artists and all. It was indeed a memorable experience for her.

Pancake aspires to do more here in the country as well as for her career and vlogging. She loves staying here in the country since she feels she is also a Filipino by heart and wishes to expand her knowledge more about the country through her vlog.
