GMA Artist Center Stars to undergo Exclusive Acting Workshop from Coach Anthony Bova

Unless you’re dreaming of becoming the next reality TV superstar, to become a working and good actor, you have to train. You cannot compete with or support others without learning some professional skills.

ACTING WORKSHOP is really a must when you are a part of the entertainment industry. So why would you even think that you can become the next big thing without at least going to a few acting workshops or an acting class?

Actors need to be challenged at all times, otherwise they go stale, they do not grow as artists and they hit a plateau. Acting workshops will provide you the challenge that you as an actor desperately require. It won’t allow you to stop growing. But you mustn’t be afraid of facing new challenges; you can never stay within your comfort zone. Never limit your acting abilities — go out there and look for something new and different, that's the main goals of artists who are passionate with their craft.

With this in mind, Prominent New York-based acting coach Anthony Vincent Bova came to Manila purposely to train GMA Artist Center stars. Bova is the artistic director of the Bova Actors Workshop and the Ionica Theater in New York.

Coach Bova shares details of his plans in teaching and molding GMA Artist Center stars into something that they never knew about themselves into becoming a bigger and better actors.

Currently, Bova’s clients are from Broadway to Wall Street, from New York to Istanbul as he runs two divisions of his educational practice, the Bova Actors Workshop and Authenticity NY. Now, he is also focussed in honing Filipinos stars, preparing them for a much bigger picture. 

Prior to founding the Bova Actors Workshop, he was on staff at Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, HB Studios and the New York Film Academy.He also has worked in television, film and stage. 

Also an actor, writer, and artistic director, Bova is a protégé of famed acting coach Eric Morris, who has taught some of the best actors in the Philippines, including Laurice Guillen, Johnny Delgado, Leo Martinez, Michael de Mesa, and Joel Torre among others.

Coach Anthony Bova also reminisced his friendship with the late Direk Maryo J. Delos Reyes who he said was an inspirations to him as well.

Coach Bova described the stars of GMA Artist Center, “They’re beautiful kids,” Bova describes his students. “A lot of the actors here, in general, are very grounded, very connected. They’re not detached from themselves and that’s a nice thing.”

GMA Artist Center stars shared their experiences and what they've learned from Coach Bova back when they also experienced their acting training, for them, it was indeed a memorable experience, a bucket list for every actors who wanted to hone their craft and be a better person not just an actor. 

With the aim to help the future generation of actors develop the skills of an effective performer, GMA Artist Center together with Laurice Guillen Actors Studio and Bova worked together to establish a higher standard for the actors’ performance in the Philippines.

Bova will come back on January 2019 to conduct the culminating activity, which will showcase what they have learned throughout the year from Anthony Vincent Bova’s training program.
