Manix Abrera, Creator of Kikomachine Komix signs contract with Epik Studios

Manix Abrera recently signed a contract (5 years contract) with Epik Studios and Viva Films for a movie and TV deal. The contract signing was held at the Viva Office last February 6.
Manuel “Manix” Abrera graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines Diliman. His comic strip Kikomachine runs from Monday to Saturday in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and currently appears in twelve book compilations published by Visprint. His webcomic News Hardcore! appears weekly on GMA News Online. He also has wordless graphic novels titled “12” and “14”.
Manix Abrera is a cult favorite in the local comic book industry, proven by long lines for his autograph during comic conventions. He is known for making an impact on his readers through his stories and drawings to which he said that some are based from his own experience.
Manix Abrera talks about his works which will now turn into a series soon with Epik Studios.
KIKOMACHINE KOMIX is his most famous work. It is a compilation of comics strip created, written and illustrated by Manix Abrera from the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The strip is about a hilarious group of students in U.P. Diliman. It now has 13 books filled with various stories about friendship, love and life but with a taste of existentialism. This compilation is first published by Visual Print Enterprises in 2005.
Apart from being a creator of various comics, Manix Abrera also became a product endorser and has appeared on TV commercials. He is often invited as a guest speaker in different schools. Just recently, he held a successful solo exhibit at Shangri-la.

Epik Studios created the latest series Tabi Po which was released via Cignal TV.
