The government is keen on totally eradicating drugs in the country simply because drugs can ruin everyone's life, not just the person who takes it but also the people around them. It's been one of President Duterte's main goal and agenda even before he was elected as the President, he wants to eliminate the drug use in the country and so far,  the campaign has been ongoing. With this in mind, acclaimed Director Carlo J. Caparas created a film about drugs entitled, "Kamandag ng Droga".

Present during the red carpet premiere of Kamandag ng Droga were some of the cast:

 Mark Neumann and Aj Muhlach
 CJ Caparas
The cast with Mr. Christopher De Leon and host Lance Raymundo

Check out the interview of Mark Neumann and Aj Muhlach for the film:

In the movie, four teenagers get themselves entangled with drugs. As a result, their world crumbles and their dreams are shattered.

The film, is around two hours and 10 minutes long and uses both the English and Tagalog languages.

There will be an English subtitle. At least 30 big names are involved in the film. Among the stars are Sarah Lahbati, Meg Imperial, Mark Newman, Christopher De Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Mocha Uson, Koko Pimentel and Caparas’ children CJ and Peach, who also co-directed the film. President Rodrigo Duterte also makes an appearance.

The fight against illegal drugs is the President’s main agenda in his administration. But it was also clarified that the movie is not a propaganda for Duterte’s war on drugs.

The film tackles sensitive issues like how some of the youth uses "ecstacy" as a way out of their depression and hopeless case giving them a sense of high and happiness which of course is the opposite. This movie also showcases how each of us can do our share in promoting how using of "drugs" is not the ultimate way to end misery or financial stuggles in life and that the government is there to help end it and support people who needs it.

The film aims to have a very entertaining approach to an otherwise sensitive topic. The team under the movie Kamandag ng Droga plans to cooperate with the Department of Education so that the film can reach students since the main characters of the movie are students.

"Kamandag ng Droga" is showing on December 6 in cinemas nationwide under Viva Films!
