Jerico might have come from a prominent showbiz and political clan but he is also making a mark on his own starting from being active in the sports field. Jerico has participated in running and track and field since fifth grade. He has competed, too, in the Palarong Pambansa. When he entered college, he went on and made the Green Team prouder. His proudest feats in the UAAP: a silver in 4x1 relay and a bronze in 4x4 100-m relay. Then, there are also the physique competitions that Jerico has joined (and won awards at) in the past, like Mr. Philippines 2013 and Slimmers World International Great Bodies 2013.
On top of all these, the Political Science graduate—who recently finished his Master's Degree in Communications, Major in Applied Mass Media also at La Salle, he is also the head coach of Nike + Run Club Manila, Nike + Run Manila Speed Run, Nike Women's Half Marathon and a brand ambassador of Color Manila Challenge and Nike Philippines. What more can he ask for? Right now, he wants to focus on something that he believes he can also excel at, acting.
Jerico Estregan stars in the movie Amalanhig with co-star Kapuso Actress Sanya Lopez. Amalanhig: The Vampire Chronicle is about a group of graduating medical students who finds an unfinished letter with blood stains and references about human vampirism virus. The said letter came from the former Chief of Police of Pilar, a remote municipality. Years ago, there was a killing spree in San Esteban, one of its far-flung barangays. No one can tell who did the killing. Only a letter provides a clue but due to insufficient evidences, the letter was dismissed as a hoax.
Nelly, Dan, Vann, Terry, and Jake together with George, Dan's balikbayan cousin, decided to conduct a research about vampirism and faith healing based from folk fanaticism and cultic practices. In pursuit for the answer to prove the existence of vampirism as a medical condition, they ventured to the unknown place to them - San Esteban. The object of their study is to interview a cult leader and faith healer known as Amang Kulas.
They arrive at Pilar on Holy Thursday on the eve of the blood, a lunar eclipse that will take place the following day - Good Friday. The blood moon or hunter's moon on Good Friday is a,bad omen for the people of Pilar that's why they tried to caution the students of not going to San Esteban knowing that the place is dangerous for strangers like them.
Amang Kulas, sensing eminent danger since the very beginning tried to caution the students also with the impeding death that follows them. But the youth will not listen to him, looking at him as a selfish fellow who uses idioms to conceal the truth from them. Later on, they will suspect him as the real amalanhig - the one who kills.
Jerico also talked about his working relationship with Sanya Lopez whom he said that she is very nice and very professional as well. They had a good chemistry doing the film and he is also impressed that Sanya is can really keep up with some of the action scenes in the film. This movie was shot way before Sanya became part of Encantadia.
Jerico also said that even though he knows that his family are well known in the industry, he wants to also make a name of his own which is why he always wants to excel in every field like in sports and now in the showbiz industry.

Both his parents have been giving him a lot of advices on how to be a good actor. He was used to all the attention his family is getting and at the same time he knows how hard it is for them to balance everything especially being a public servant which is why he salutes his parents.
Since Jerico is now under the Viva, he is also wishing that he can work with his dream leading ladies in the future which includes Ann Curtis-Smith, Yassi Pressman, Erich Gonzales and Bianca Umali. All of these girls are his top choice because aside from their undeniable charm and physical beauty, they are also good in acting and can very well do action movies just like Anne Curtis-Smith who has an upcoming movie under Direk Erik Matti "Buybust". Jerico also mentioned that he wishes to work with helmed directors like Erik Matti and Brillante Mendoza whom he thinks he learn a lot. One of his favorite action movie is OTJ (On The Job). He is hopeful that action movies will continue to be supported by Filipinos although he is not closing his doors on doing Rom-Com projects as well because in order to be a good actor, he needs to be versatile.
AMALANHIG: THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLE is directed by Francis Jun Posadas. Showing on September 20 in cinemas nationwide under Viva Films.
