Introducing Lance Edward: Your newest Pop-Rock-R&B Sensation

The Internet caters to numerous talents that are often unheard of. With its power to create celebrities out of Facebook and YouTube plus other social media platforms, cyber fame has shown its magic in jumpstarting an artist’s career; proving that the internet with millions of users worldwide is definitely a goldmine of talents. 

A lot of Filipino artists started out in the internet and number one example would be Julie Anne San Jose who is now a multi-platinum awardee. But it doesn't stop there, rising Pop-Rock and R&B singer Lance Edward  sets out an example how from being a virtual unknown internet sensation can dominate mainstream music scene if you're just passionate with your chosen craft and this is how he will start his journey in the showbiz industry.

Lance Edward's version of Tong Hua by Wu Chun which is translated in Tagalog as "Ngayon Wala Ka Na" gained a thousand views after it was uploaded and it's no wonder why even until now it's been gaining views, this video charmed his way to the netizens making the clamor for more which is why Lance Edward is now determined follow his dreams.

Like many other singers, the road to Lance Edward’s dream of being a performer wasn’t that smooth as anyone could imagine. Lance Edward came from Batangas then went to Manila to study. He graduated with Master's Degree at Ateneo De Manila University, major in Entrepreneurship. According to Lance, it was one of his major achievement. 

Lance was already a part of a boy band way back, they even had an album before which was released in some Asian countries like Malaysia and Brunei. He was college at that time and they were busy doing training and vocal workshops as well, he even added that Wu Chun, who is now a famous singer in Taiwan was also there doing some training. The boy band was a mixture of different asian races:  him a Filipino, then Singaporean, Malaysian and from Brunei. They had a shot of fame at that time especially in Malaysia but at some point, Lance felt alone specifically with the language barrier, he is also missing his family and friends in the Philippines. 

Lance Edward went back in Manila and put up a business. It was a diagnostic business for hospitals which is based in Batangas. He focussed more into their business ventures then eventually took up a Master's degree where he just finished recently. After achieving some of his bucket list like putting up a business and graduating and completing his Master's degree, he realized that his is still missing his first love, singing.

Lance Edward eventually braved the jungle of the showbiz industry to pursue his singing career, it wasn't an easy start, since he even auditioned in PBB just so he can enter the showbiz industry but since he is the nephew of renowned Director Laurenti Dyogi who helmed the show PBB, he was asked to step down because they don't want to have issues regarding a relative making it to PBB. This is why Lance made it sure that he will make a name of his own no matter what.

He met key people in the industry who is now helping him achieve his goals, step by step. 
He is currently under Star Music and if things go smoothly, he might soon be releasing his very first single then an album in the near future. He has been doing some mall shows with Vin Abrenica and Edgar Allan Guzman lately and there's more chances of seeing them perform regularly in the near future.

Lance Edward also wants to explore different sides of performing, he is learning to play guitar and if there's a chance he would also want to compose songs in the future. Aside from singing, Lance also wants to try acting as well. He said that being versatile is one way to hit the top when it comes to the entertainment industry, it's really a plus if you can act and sing as well. Back then, he used to do plays as well, just recently, he was about to be a apart of an upcoming and much-awaited musical in the country which is Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag but unfortunately, he was busy at that time and couldn't commit to the strenuous training and practices of the musical. Lance Edward added that he is the type of person that would always want to give his 100% especially when it comes to performing. He wishes that he can still be a part of a musical or play in the future and also wants to do an indie film if given the chance. 

Lance Edward is aware that the competition when it comes to singing in the industry nowadays is stiff since there are a lot of amazing and great singers nowadays in all ages, he said that he really doesn't want to compete with any of them, he just wanted to showcase his talent and may be inspire others as well that no one is really stopping you from achieving your dreams, you just have to make it happen and that is what he is doing.

With his captivating voice, there's no denying that Lance Edward has that edge to make it to the spotlight and eventually have his own name and song marked in every charts  but one thing is for sure, his faith in God will never waver. Lance shared his solid faith and contentment with having a strong bond with the Lord after many struggles in his life that made him turn to the right path now.
