100 Tula Para kay Stella: Official Entry to the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino from August 16 - 22

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino officially started today, August 16. You can watch all the entries will August 22 in cinemas nationwide.One of the official entry is a film by Viva Films, directed by Jason Paul Laxamana entitled, "100 Tula Para kay Stella".

The film held a premiere night at SM Megamall last August 14 where all the cast were present together with some of Viva Artist Agency talents who supported the movie.

100 TULA PARA KAY STELLA

A guy with a speech defect turns to writing poetry to verbalize his feelings for a girl who has passion for music. Written and directed by the award-winning Jason Paul Laxamana (Magkakabaung, Mercury is Mine), “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” is an artistic depiction of a realistic love story between college friends Fidel and Stella, played by JC Santos (a theater actor who broke into mainstream showbiz last year when he played the role of Ali in the teleserye ‘Til I Met You) and Primetime TV Gem, Bela Padilla.

Out of the 45 submitted entries, it is one of the 12 films chosen by The Film Development Council of the Philippines to be included in the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pelipino (PPP) that will be shown in 790 cinemas nationwide from August 16-22, 2017 as part of the celebration of Buwan ng Wika.

The characters Fidel and Stella are classmates taking up BA Psychology. Fidel openly shares that he limits his sentences to three words because anything longer than that would cause him to stutter. Stella signifies that she doesn’t mind even if he stutters, and treats him as a friend. The two enjoy each other’s company.

Stella, being the vocalist of a rock band, talks about her dream of performing in front of a huge crowd. Fidel encourages her, at the same time, reminding her to pay attention to her studies as well. Fidel can’t help falling in love with Stella and writes poems to win her heart. One reads, “Handa na ang sundalong ito na sumabak sa giyera. Nais kong malaman mong gustong-gusto kita.” But having his love reciprocated becomes just another concern as he notices that Stella’s studies are suffering because of her dream. As he challenges her to set her priorities straight, does his love for her stand a chance?
