Music has always been one of the many ways to relieve my stress and eventually, make me feel better at the end of the day. I don't know why but there's something about it that makes me really at ease but did you know that low-frequency sound pressure can be used to

Last week, I got the chance to try out something new that will help relieve pain in any parts of the body. Thankfully, I was with my Blogger friends because it's much better if you can go there by a group of 4 members since the place is a bit small so that the low-frequency sound waves will circulate in a much smaller area.

The Medsonix Acoustic Resonating Therapy System integrates a medical device that uses low frequency sound waves to increase blood flow and mobility, reduce inflammation and pain and relieve symptoms of many diseases and disorders.

Each Medsonix pain therapy session lasts for 30 minutes and can be done while reading, listening to music or checking emails. No need to disrobe but those undergoing the therapy will be required to wear sound reduction headphones as he/she is enveloped with low frequency sound waves, often feels a warm, tingly sensation throughout the body or around the affected area.
The therapy system was developed 10 years ago by Alphonse Cassone, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. who experimented with sound waves for 15 years.
Two pilot studies conducted at the School of Nursing and Physical Therapy in the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2000 showed that the Medsonix Acoustic Resonating Therapy System improved the mobility of patients and reduced the pain in 85% of patients. The studies were later published in an international medical journal in 2002.
Cassone said immediate and sustained pain relief has been experienced by many patients after only one session, although four to six therapy sessions, are normally required to gain maximum benefit.
Prof. Eric Soriano III, who helped Cassone bring the therapy system to the country, is confident the system will be embraced by Filipinos who want immediate relief from pain caused by many diseases and disorders.
“This will help improve the quality of life of many patients who have tried almost everything to get rid of pain,” said Professor Soriano, who teaches global marketing and real estate at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

Of course, I will not let the opportunity pass by without me experiencing this one of a kind and the first in the country and even in Asia to try out Medsonix resonating therapy. At first, you will be asked to fill out the form, just a few details about yourself and health background as well. There's no minimum age for this for as long as you're feeling pain and you want to try an alternative way to ease it out, but for kids, you might need an advice from the doctor first and pregrant women are not allowed to try it as well.
It's a 30-minute procedure and all you need is to listen to that low sound frequency, the one you you hear when you're watching the TV and they're about to sign out. After 30 minutes, I felt it actually worked. I felt really relaxed to the point that I felt sleepy. I also felt that my whole body at ease after the session, I was surprised because it worked that fast but honestly the day after, I felt even more recharged.
