Wednesday, June 10, 2015

It's the time of the year again when we get updates on the latest fashion trends in the metro.
This year, fashion takes center stage once again as Ayala Malls, the country's leading lifestyle and shopping destination, presents "STYLE ORIGIN", a series of activities that celebrates fashion innovations and inspired designs.

Last June 6 and 7, the exciting venue is at the Trinoma Activity Center with three fashion shows presented: Mensweek, High street: Global Brands & High Street: Homegrown Labels.

Style Origin presented Mensweek which features collections by some of the country's top designers including Sassa Jimenez, Herbert Custodio, James Reyes, and M Barretto as they presented their take on stylish menswear. They were the acclaimed and up and coming names in the Filipino fashion design.

Since Style Origin was launched, it has trained the spotlight on selected heritage of fashion brands, global icons as well as emerging names in the industry, highlighting their craftmanship and passion for design that has delighted fashionistas and loyal shopping patrons year after year.

The first fashion show presented last June 6 features latest collections on top foreign labels including Zara, Topshop, Mango, Cotton On, Giordano and Marks & Spencers. For the second day, they featured Penshoppe, Plains & Prints, Artwork, Big & Small Co., and Gingersnaps.

I'm glad to witness this amazing fashion show because I am always looking forward to this every year. On the first day celebrity ambassadors of foreign brands walked the runway  such as Kylie Padilla and Carl Guevara for Skechers, Matt Evans for Guess among others.

The director of the said fashion show was Ariel Lozada, who shared that the intention is to create a unifying element in terms of set design because they are showing both menswear from local designers and collections from High Street brands.

The annual Style Origin gives an opportunity to showcase vast selection of stylish offerings in terms of apparel, shoes and accesories. But apart from fashion, they also take pride in the mall's wide array of dining concepts. Trinoma's position as the go-to lifestyle destination for shopping, dining and entertainment. Some of these dining concepts include Torch, Kpub BBQ, Wingstop, Shi Lin, Dekada, Baskin Robbins and Cafe Shibuya.
