Mitch Albom has Arrived in Manila
Thursday, February 20, 2014
Best-selling author Mitch Albom arrived in Manila on Wednesday, February 19.
Albom is in the country for a couple of book signing events organized by National Book Store. They will be held in Glorietta on Saturday and in Ayala Cebu on Sunday.
He is also currently promoting his new book, The First Phone Call from Heaven
which tells the story of a small town on Lake Michigan that gets worldwide attention when its citizens start receiving phone calls from the afterlife. Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax? Sully Harding, a grief-stricken single father, is determined to find out. An allegory about the power of belief--and a page-turner that will touch your soul--Albom's masterful storytelling has never been so moving and unexpected.
Readers of The Five People You Meet in Heaven will recognize the warmth and emotion so redolent of Albom's writing, and those who haven't yet enjoyed the power of his storytelling, will thrill at the discovery of one of the best-loved writers of our time.
"Before the opening of Glorietta, early birds may line up at the entrance of National Book Store along Palm Drive beside J.Co Donuts," National Book Store said. "This shall be the official registration line for Mitch Albom's book signing event until the mall opens when the registration line will move to the Glorietta Activity Center. This entrance of National Book Store will be opened at 9:30 AM while mall entrances open at 10 AM."
While in the Philippines, the 55-year-old American novelist will also visit schools and will take a trip to Tacloban to show his support to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
Albom is the man behind New York Times bestsellers "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven." He has sold over 35 million copies of his works worldwide.
Aside from being a perennial bestselling author, Albom is a journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster and musician.
