Filipino child star Barbara Miguel took home the best actress trophy at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York over the weekend, the youngest ever to win the award in the 7-year history of the festival.

The 10-year-old actress was recognized for her portrayal as Krista in the Pinoy indie movie, "Nuwebe."

Inspired by the actual story of one of the youngest mothers in the Philippines, "Nuwebe" chronicles the story of Krista, who was impregnated by her own father at the age of 9. Her mother believes that she was impregnated by malevolent supernatural creatures called "nuno sa punso."

This is the second acting award for the young star, who had won the "Best Child Actress" for another indie film titled "Migrante" at the this year's FAMAS Awards.

Miguel was part of the cast of the now-defunct Kapuso teleserye, "Munting Heredera." She also played as Darling in the GMA-7 soap, "Biritera."
