My House Husband: Ikaw Na! MMFF 2011 entry by OctoArts Films
Monday, December 19, 2011When I got the invitation to attend the Press Conference of the upcoming movie of Ms. Judy Ann Santos and Mr. Ryan Agoncillo, I can't help but feel excited. Who wouldn't be? we're talking about Ms. Judy Ann Santos - she's been in the showbiz industry for almost 23 years and has done 70 movies, most of which have won awards from prestigious award giving bodies and let's not forget that her movie "Ploning" has been nominated in the Oscars last 2009 for the Best Foreign Film Category. Ryan Agoncillo, on the other hand is one of the best TV host in the country today. He is also one of the most sought after when it comes to commercials.
Best of all, I am also really eager to meet Ms. Eugene Domingo, I really love her. Without no effort, she can really make a dull room bloom. She's been winning awards left and right and has been nominated for the past consecutive years. She actually took part in different movies this year for MMFF. Which is why we all laughed when Ms. Judy Ann Santos joke, "Next year di na MMFF ang tawag sa film fest, Eugene Domingo Film Festival na ito"
In My House Husband, Ms. Judy Ann played the role of Mia, a mother and wife who is the sole breadwinner of her family. Ryan Agoncillo played the role of Rod, a bank manager before who turned into a house husband. Ms. Eugene Domingo played the role of Aida, a mistress who happens to be Rod and Mia's neighbor. While Mia is always busy at work, Rod and Aida developed a friendship that got Mia jealous in the end. We'll know more of the story once we get to watch this exciting movie.
Although Eugene has played with other entries this year, she readily accepted the role simply because she wanted to work with Ms. Judy Ann Santos and Mr. Ryan Agoncillo. As well as with Direk Jose Javier Reyes, one of the best director in the country.
One of the blogger asked Ms Uge, "Since you played the role of a mistress, in reality, papayag ka bang maging mistress if ever?" Ms Uge answered with a smile, "Never, I believe in karma at digital na ang karma ngayon!! ang tawag dyan Digi-karm!!"
When asked if this is a sequel of the past movie "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" and "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo" the cast said, although people might still connect the movie with this recent installment from OctoArts Films, this is an entirely different movie. Tackling with the heavy issue that in reality this really happens. There are a lot of husband who stayed in the house right now to take care of their family while their wife is working for example, an OFW or working in the office. But, that doesn't make them a lesser person or a man. Being in the house and doing all the household chores is a big work. Not all men can do it especially if they have a big ego. But most men can do it just because they love their family. Family always comes first right?:)
One of the blogger asked the couple, "What advice can you give the married couples out there.." Ms. Ryan Agonciollo and Ms. Judy Ann Santos just smiled and she replied, "Basta may respeto kayo sa isa't isa at alam nyong nagpakasal kayo dahil mahal nyo ang isa't isa, walang magiging problema. Never naging solusyon ang annulment, kami kahit may mga times na nag aaway kami, never naming naisip na ipa-annul ang kasal. Pwede namang mag pahinga muna para mawala ang init ng ulo ng bawat isa."
Direk Joey Reyes, who directed the couple and Uge in some of his films feels that this is another stellar movie that people should watch. Both Ms. Judy and Mr. Ryan and Uge felt really proud working with Direk Joey, Ms. Judy Ann even said, "Sino ba naman kami para tanggihan ang nag iisang Jose Javier Reyes."
This is surely a must-watch film and yes, I'm looking forward into watching this film. Uge even told the bloggers that she may not be joining the cast in their float but just the same her spirit is with them. :)
With a power house cast, awesome director and a superb story, "My House Husband: Ikaw Na!" is surely expected to lead box-office results and bring home the highest awards in the MMFF 2011. Also stars, Rocco Nacino and Ellen Adarna.
It was so nice meeting the cast! :) Don't forget to watch! "My House Husband: Ikaw Na!" open on Christmas Day. December 25, 2011.
