Beyond Machines: The Human Touch Behind LG’s Laundry Business Success Stories

LG Friday, May 23, 2025

Mr. Jun Lee, LG Philippines Product Director for Home Appliances & Leo Estallo, President & CEO of One Rockford Enterprises with the LG and One Rockford Teams

Running a successful laundry business goes beyond delivering clean clothes—it’s about building trust and delivering consistent, high-quality service. For Leo Estallo, President & CEO of One Rockford Enterprises and Vice President of the United Philippine Laundry Association (UPLA), every laundry shop they help establish is designed to meet both the practical demands of customers and the realities of day-to-day operations. Backed by LG Commercial Laundry Machines, known for their durability and efficiency, his team ensures entrepreneurs are equipped with reliable technology and long-term support. With over 22 years of engineering experience and more than 9 years managing 6 of his own Spin-Off Express Laundry branches in Parañaque, San Pedro, Biñan, Southwoods, Carmona, and Antipolo, Leo has become a key figure in raising laundry standards.

Leo Estallo, President & CEO of One Rockford Enterprises

Redefining Laundry: Creating Meaningful Customer Experiences Beyond Clean Clothes

Leo observes a broader trend in how laundromats are redefining customer experience. “We see laundromats evolve into lifestyle hubs. Some newer concepts are blending laundry with cafés, coworking spots, and even pet wash stations. It’s no longer just a chore stop, it’s a full experience. Customers stay longer, spend more, and actually enjoy being there.” While laundry may seem like a straightforward utility, he believes the best businesses are those that create meaningful customer interactions. “One of the best parts of owning a laundry business is the little community that forms over time. You start recognizing familiar faces, sharing stories while waiting on spin cycles, even offering life tips over fabric softener choices. It’s unexpectedly social, and we love being part of that.” This shows how Leo is confident that great service comes from blending personal connections with seamless operations.

Spin-Off Express Laundry, Carmona Branch

Technology also plays a critical role in shaping tomorrow’s laundry businesses. “Tech integration is also changing the game. App-based booking, payment systems, remote monitoring, and machine usage analytics are all becoming the norm. For future business owners, that means planning for smart operations from day one.” The laundry business is evolving, and the market’s future is something to watch closely. “Aside from the move to bigger-capacity machines, which is all about handling bulk loads, comforters, and even light commercial laundry, there’s a real push toward premium services,” he notes. “One standout is steam cleaning, especially for delicates like silk, wool, and even designer pieces. It’s a smart pivot for shop owners looking to attract a more discerning crowd. People want care, not just clean.”

Why Customer Satisfaction Starts with Reliable Technology

For Leo, customer satisfaction goes beyond product delivery—it involves anticipating needs and delivering consistent after-sales support. “We’ve been hearing a lot of great reviews from our customers about the LG machines we offer and honestly, it’s always a great feeling. They love how easy the machines are to use and how they just work—efficient, reliable, and always delivering top-notch results.

LG Styler

“What really stands out for them is the smart features and how energy-efficient the units are, which makes a big difference in their daily operations.” He further emphasizes the value of responsive service and long-term partnership. “And when it comes to after-sales support, they know they can count on us. Quick responses, dependable service—that kind of trust goes a long way, and it’s something we’re proud to keep building.”

Resilience in Action: Overcoming Challenges with Quality Technology

Leo recalls one of the most defining moments in his company’s journey: a super typhoon in 2020 that severely affected a client’s laundry shop. “It was back in 2020 when a super typhoon unleashed devastating floods, submerging one of our valued customer's laundry shops under nearly 5 meters of water,” he shares. “The aftermath left their machines heavily damaged, and the fear of permanent shutdown loomed.”

Rather than viewing the situation as a loss, Leo and his team approached it as an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of their customer support and the resilience of the LG Commercial Washers. “But through expert assessment and careful evaluation, we were able to recover, repair, and revive their flooded machines, bringing them back to optimal working condition with only minimal parts replacement,” he continues. “This not only saved our client from the high cost of purchasing new equipment but also reinforced one undeniable truth—that LG machines are built to endure. Quality that withstands even the toughest challenges.”

LG Commercial Washing Machines installed for business-ready performance

A strong foundation—built on quality technology, responsive service, and genuine customer care—can weather any storm. Leo ensures his business stays resilient and continues to deliver top-notch customer satisfaction by making LG Commercial Laundry a key part of his operations. “LG Commercial Washers are a solid choice. I’ve seen firsthand how they boost efficiency, save on utilities, and still deliver top-tier cleanliness.” His experience stands as proof that with the right partner like LG, laundry businesses can stay resilient, efficient, and built for long-term success. “For anyone starting a laundry business or looking to upgrade, it’s the kind of investment that pays off long-term.”

Life’s Good in the Laundry Business: Empowering Success through Trust

For those exploring opportunities in the laundry industry, Estallo offers sound advice drawn from years of experience in the field. “Don’t just sell clean clothes, build trust,” he says. “Machines, detergents, and services are a given, but what really keeps customers coming back is consistency, reliability, and that personal touch.” He believes that every successful venture begins with a well-thought-out plan. “Start with a clear plan, invest in quality equipment and training, but more importantly, know your market, listen to your customers, and treat their laundry like it’s your own.” The laundry business isn’t just about washers and dryers—it’s about being part of someone’s daily routine and making it a little easier. “That’s where the magic—and the growth—happens.”

Spin-Off Express Laundry Supports the Next Generation of Laundromat Owners

Life’s Good reflects the deeper meaning that Leo finds in his everyday work. Life’s Good when there’s purpose behind the grind, when resilience carries you through challenges, and when the value you create isn’t just for today, but for the long run.

“For me, it’s not just about profits or milestones,” he shares. “It’s about waking up every day knowing I get to build something meaningful—with people I trust, for clients I believe in.” It’s a perspective shaped by experience: the quiet wins of seeing a team member thrive, hearing a simple ‘thank you’ from a client, or watching a new idea finally take off. While the journey isn’t always smooth, Leo finds fuel even in the tough moments. “Life’s Good’ means doing work that excites me, creating value, and still having time to enjoy slow mornings with my coffee and family.” It’s a mindset that guides One Rockford Enterprises “When you genuinely care about people’s journey, growth becomes a natural outcome—and so does lasting trust.”

Life’s Good for Moms: Meaningful Moments, Made Easy

LG Friday, May 09, 2025

Whether you’re a mom, lola, tita, or a single mom doing it all, you deserve to celebrate and be celebrated this Mother’s Day. This special day always falls on the second Sunday of May, so establishments are guaranteed to be booked and busy. If you’re one of the many moms who just want to rest on this special weekend and avoid crowds, why not spend it at home?

Moments That Matter: Reliving the Past and Creating New Memories

If you’re looking to feel nostalgic, watching old baby videos and cherished family moments on a bigger screen, such as LG’s UHD TV, brings back the feels and memories to life. But beyond reminiscing, it's about living in the moment—whether it’s watching with p ones or letting little ones peacefully drift to sleep with their favorite lullabies through speakers such as the LG xboom Go. Every moment, from memory to melody, becomes a treasured experience.

Embrace Your Playful Side: Celebrate with Fun and Freedom

Mom, staying in doesn’t have to mean lying in bed all day. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, you can also choose to direct your energy towards activities such as belting out your favorite karaoke hits with the LG xboom RNC5, or upping your excitement through your favorite films on the LG QNED TV. Letting loose with every note and every scene can bring back joy and excitement, turning me-time into something truly special. Singing or streaming, it’s just one other way to unwind and enjoy your special day.

Relax and Recharge: A Well-Deserved Retreat for Mom

Being a mom isn’t always going to be stress-free. Many moms go through countless sleepless nights! With the LG Non-Inverter Aircon providing a cool, soothing breeze and the LG PuriCare Air Purifier ensuring clean, fresh air, the space transforms into a haven of comfort to help you truly relax and recharge each night. Whether lounging in bed, catching up on rest, or simply enjoying a peaceful pause, having the right air conditioner and quality can help you unwind in the evening and feel restored by the morning.

Turning Everyday Moments into Meaningful Family Bonds

One of the best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day is for mom to not have to do chores. Turn an ordinary cleaning day into a lighthearted, shared experience with teaching your kids to help out and use the LG Top Load Washer and LG Canister Vacuum. With everyone pitching in and moments turning into memories, it’s not just about tidying up—it’s learning to celebrate mom for all the things she does that we sometimes forget to thank her for.

Life’s Good when you celebrate in a way that feels true—whether it’s sharing laughs with family, enjoying quiet moments, or simply doing what brings joy. The best celebration isn’t about grand gestures, but about feeling supported and happy right where you are. With LG, every moment becomes part of a meaningful Mother’s Day, because Life’s Good when comfort, love, and ease fill the space, turning the everyday into something special.

Life's about more than having the latest technology; it's about the experiences technology creates that impact our lives. To learn more, visit www.lg.com/ph and like and follow LG Philippines’ social media accounts (@lgphilippines) on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

LG commemorates World Environment Day 2018 with a global clean-up initiative

LG Tuesday, June 12, 2018

Celebrated every year on June 5, World Environment Day, hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), promotes positive eco-action, and creates ideal opportunities for individuals and communities to understand the importance of world heritage and environmental protection. This year’s theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution,” highlights the importance of plastic-free eco-systems, and urges consumers to reduce their reliance on single-use or disposable plastics.

In line with this year’s theme, UNEP is encouraging individuals and communities to take action by focusing on the plastics that go into our natural waterways. Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants in our oceans today. Every year, the world uses 500 billion plastic bags; every year, at least eight million tons of plastic end up in the world’s oceans—the equivalent of a full garbage truck every minute—damaging marine life and threatening human health. The amount of garbage that end up our waters is growing, and experts predict that the annual amount of plastic trash tumbling out to our seas, oceans and rivers will more than double in the next 10 years.

LG Electronics, which is always at the forefront of responsible social and environmental contribution, supports UNEP and World Environment Day by rallying nearly 40,000 employees across all its offices around the world to take action and become agents of positive social change. This is the ninth consecutive year that LG employees worldwide have come together to contribute to the rehabilitation of the community and the environment.

This year, LG Electronics heeded UNEP’s call for citizens and companies to organize and participate in coastal and riverbank clean-ups, and arranged a 24-hour “relay” event where its offices across the globe engaged in a clean-up activity benefiting the local community. The event occurred on May 24 with the team from LG Electronics Philippines kicking off the relay.

According to a study, the Philippines is the third biggest source of plastic ocean pollution in the world. To help offset this reputation, LG Philippines provided assistance to the Pasig community, where its office and warehouse is located, by helping in the weekly clean-up and rehabilitation of one of the more polluted areas along the Pasig River.

Forty-five employees, including LG Philippines Managing Director Inkwun Heo, rolled up their sleeves and tirelessly gathered waste such as plastic bottles and caps, plastic packaging, cans and even old toilet seats. The LG employees were joined by 30 volunteers from the Solid Waste Management group of the Pasig City government. More than 50 large bags of garbage and waste materials were collected from the site. After the activity, the cleaning materials purchased and used by LG’s employees, such as gloves and rakes, were donated to the Solid Waste Management group of Pasig City.

“We are proud to see so many LG Philippines employees embracing sustainability consciousness, and volunteering their time and effort into helping the environment and the Pasig community,” says LG Philippines managing director Mr. Inkwun Heo. “This program will raise our employees’ awareness on the importance of contributing back to the society while leaving behind a long-lasting impact.”

LG is also committed to promoting a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle by offering a range of innovative home appliances designed to counteract a number of environmental threats. LG’s eco-friendly initiatives are at the forefront of the ongoing revolution in renewable power, increased energy efficiency and environmentally friendly production.

LG G3 to Launch Soon in the Philippines

LG Saturday, May 31, 2014

LG Electronics is named by the Mobile World Congress’ as the most innovative manufacturer of the year, , globally introduced today the much-anticipated successor of the highly-acclaimed “King of Android” G2—the LG G3.

With launch events taking place in six cities worldwide—London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul—the Korean technology giant aims to redefine the definition of a global smartphone for global consumers with its newest flagship powerhouse—the LG G3.

Redefining smartphone technology with its ‘Simple is the New Smart’ belief, LG G3 is a culmination of consumer research based on LG’s product development philosophy, ‘Learning from You.’ This newest smartphone superstar is amplified with the best of what LG’s current technology has to offer, yet providing consumers with a “simpler” user experience.

“The smartest innovation in a fast evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience,” said Sung Woo Nam, LG Electronics Philippines managing director. “LG G3 is the result of our effort to actualize that idea into a tangible product—LG’s most advanced technology combined with a simplified user experience designed to make smartphone usage simpler, yet smarter.”

True-to-life viewing experience

A trailblazer in display technology, LG is taking G3’s mobile display supremacy with its breathtaking Quad HD, the result of years of display innovation.

With a pixel density of 538ppi, the G3’s Quad HD display sets new viewing standards, producing images that are sharper and clearer than traditional smartphone displays. At 5.5-inches, LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4 percent with thin bezels all around to maximize its eye-candy display.

“The high resolution display on the G3 also required LG engineers to pair it with battery technology that was just as innovative,” said Mr. Nam. “LG equipped the G3 with a 3,000mAh removable battery and advanced optimization technologies to further maximize battery efficiency and lifespan. This way, the battery can keep up with the Quad HD display’s ultra-high performance without losing steam in the middle of the day.”

Simply captivating

Aside from the display, G3 boasts of having an advanced 13MP OIS+ camera, designed to quickly and easily capture life’s simple moments. With LG’s innovative world’s first Laser Auto Focus technology for smartphones, the G3 can capture the best and most vivid moments—even in low light—by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam.

Combined with the proven and popular OIS+ technology first seen in the G Pro 2, the G3 is made to impress discerning shutterbugs.

Mr. Nam said, “LG also simplified the actual process of taking photos. Rather than having to focus on the subject in preview mode and then pressing the shutter button, with the G3, tapping the subject to focus will simultaneously also trigger the shutter. What’s more, the G3’s 2.1MP front camera incorporates several new enhancements such as a larger image sensor and larger aperture for more light throughput and better-looking selfies,”

He added, “A unique twist has been added to the standard timed selfie mode by incorporating gesture control. When ready to shoot, one can simply clench his hand into a fist and the G3 will recognize the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown. It couldn’t get any simpler than that.”

For video, the G3 offers superior sound quality with instinctive microphones that measure the environment to identify the optimal audio level for the clearest recording. The built-in 1W speaker with Boost AMP also enables users to enjoy videos and music accompanied by richer sounds and clearer tones.

Balanced and simplified design language

The G3 sports a Floating Arc design with its ergonomic arch and slim side profile providing an extremely comfortable grip for everyday one-handed use. LG’s trademark and well-received Rear Key is still making an appearance with G3, donning a newly-designed power key and volume button polished with more premium materials and finish.

Aside from refining the sophisticated technical features lined in a singular layout located at the rear, G3’s stylish metallic skin with matte finish keeps the phone looking clean and fingerprint-free.

G3 will be offered in five vibrant colors: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red.

“To complement the new external design, LG adopted a minimalistic user interface design with flat graphics. The circular motif of the graphic assets in the new UI was derived from the shape and concept of LG’s logo, reflecting its unique visual style and identity,” said Nam.

In addition to the advanced core technologies, LG took its ‘Learning from You’ approach to a higher level with new smarter UX features to offer G3 users a unique experience unlike any previous LG smartphone including:

Smart Keyboard: An adaptive technology that reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type.

Smart Notice: Like a personal assistant, Smart Notice provides suggestions and recommendations based on user behavior, phone usage patterns and location to offer user information when it’s needed the most.

Smart Security: LG G3 offers a number of enhanced security features such as the Knock Code which enables users to wake and unlock their device at the same time just by “knocking;” the Content Lock which keeps personal files safe and hidden from view when sharing the G3 with others; and the Kill Switch which gives the owners the ability to disable their phones remotely in case of theft.

Aside from sporting a removable battery, G3 now also has a 16/32 GB internal storage, expandable via microSD of up to 128 GB. This would entail more memory and storage, and a more seamless smartphone performance.

LG introduced as well the newest smartphone companions like the QuickCircle Case in five colors, LG Tone Infinim powered by the premium Harman/Kardon, and a compact and foldable wireless charger.

LG G3 will soon be introduced in the Philippines in the coming months. Specifications and colors may vary depending on the market.
